“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”
Micah 6:8

Well, congratulations to each one of you! 🙌🏻 We have officially made it past the halfway mark for this Spring100 and I’m beginning to see that finish line ahead!! 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️ How was has the past week of walking/running gone for you?? Keep your eyes set on the prize. 🥇 We are so very close! This week, as we set out to grab our week 9 Spring100 miles and serve the Lord in every area of life, let’s take Micah 6:8 with us! If you haven’t memorized this verse from God’s Word, I urge you to do so. Do justly, love mercy, walk humbly… WALK HUMBLY with thy God! The command to walk humbly always takes my mind to James 4:6 where we are told “But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” and then a few verses later James says, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.” I don’t know about you, but I desire that “more grace” that the Lord God gives to the humble. As I walk my miles this week, I am praying that I would be “clothed in humility” and that I would walk humbly with the Lord my God. “Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5. May we seek to Do Justly, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly for week 9 of the 2022 Spring100… HAPPY WALKING Y’ALL! 🙋🏼‍♀️💯

Before I learned to love God’s word/She taught it to me verse by verse/She prayed we’d learn to love those words and the Author/The truth she taught, the prayers she prayed/Have shaped my life in every way/And I know I’m who I am today because of her.
So thank you, Mom for all you’ve done/For your sacrifice and love/For raising us to know and love the truth/You stood strong when things got tough/And I know I never say this enough/Thank you, Mom.”

I know the Lord made it possible for me to have children and be a Mom like my Mom was.  One of  my greatest joys was to read to the kids or have them read to me.  My Mom instilled in us a love of reading and when she read out loud to us, she made the book come alive for me. Now we read devotions to each other each morning over the phone. I am thankful for that time and treasure it very much.  I thank God for the gift of mothers! Happy Mother’s Day!” Yvonne J.

“Hiking 18 miles on the Arizona Trail-Kyle Tappendorf & my mom Cindy” —“The Lehman cousins out with their Grandma Katie. We are so blessed to have her in our lives and we couldn’t ask for a better grandmother! And we just wanted to say to all the mothers and grandmothers and great-grandmother’s Happy Mother’s Day may the Lord bless you for all you do for your children!!!” Lehman Family

What an honor to spend the day celebrating our Mothers! Words cannod express the gratitude my siblings and I have for our Mom. Her daily sacrifice and labor of love have blessed us beyond measure and we thank the Lord for her! To all the mothers out there, keep up the great work. Your labor in the Lord is not in vain!! “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9 ♥️

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:1-2

…But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
Sometimes I’ll be really tired and really not motivated to get out and walk because I think it will make me more exhausted when I’ve already has a lot going on and am tired, but…exercise takes energy, and it also gives you energy, and God is faithful. He will equip us with strength to go on and not grow weary!!🥳😀 Keep going, y’all!! 🥰 “And I will go in the strength of my God, with my mouth I will make known His righteousness!!”🌸 Great pictures everyone, and happy walking for this week!🥳 You can do it!😀

Psalm 27:1 is one that I have on my mind alot.
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

The Lord is greater than anything we will encounter in this life. Even an 100mi challenge. 😉
But seriously, we need to find our strength in Jesus to be able to run this race of life, not in ourselves.

I’m keeping up with the reading, though I’m not always on each day exactly as I should be. 😉

In Habakkuk, the people were making gods to themselves, doing their own thing, trying to get to heaven their own way and in their own power, but in the end of all their God-denying endeavors, the Lord says, “But the Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.” Hab. 2:20. Keep silence before him! Wow!! What can we say that is worth more than God’s words? Nothing! What can we do that is greater than what he has already done? Nothing!

Verse 14 of the same chapter says: “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” God will prevail!

Then finally, in chapter 3 of Habakkuk, verse 2, there is a wonderful prayer that says in the latter part: “Revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known, in wrath remember mercy.” Yes! The beauty of mercy!!! It is the face of the Lord Jesus!! 🙂

Like Sarah, I also want to comment on the video.

Susan Downing, the lessons we learn are far greater and longer lasting than the places we walk. Thanks so much for sharing what the Lord has taught you in your little corner of the world!! I so appreciated your video because I can relate to what you said. It was also fun seeing your walking route and knowing it was Africa!! 😀 “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” (I Thess 5:18)

My walks this year are convenient, but not very awe inspiring, to say the least. I mainly just walk within my house! Around and around and around (did I mention around?) through my living room, dining room and kitchen. I walk fast and work up a sweat and get my heart rate up. It’s more of a workout than walking streets!!! Since I know how long it takes me to walk a mile, I set my timer and go. It’s nice because I can walk anytime of the day or night, and I don’t have to worry about the weather. I can also walk in my empty garage, though I prefer the house. It has made the Spring100 so much more doable, though the scenery leaves a lot to be desired!!! 😉 😉 Still, I can listen to walking music or meditate, if I want. Once, I even listened to preaching!!

We do what we can, with what God has given to us, and call it all joy!!!!!!!!

By the way, I really have enjoyed all the video comments! John Silvey, you are a comedian! 🙂
