Week 6 || 100MileMonday

Week 6 COMPLETE! Fabulous job, everyone!! 🙌🏻Here we are at the end of April. Hard to believe! Time seems to be flying by. Spring days are filled full for everyone! The School year is coming to an end, events are happening, and life is getting busy!! Perhaps you’re like me and need a little renewed strength to make it to your Spring100 goal and keep up with the tasks at hand.😅 I was reminded of Isaiah 40:31 this week as I pressed out a mile before the day was over. “RENEWED STRENGTH”… What a promise! We can seek the Lord for renewed physical and spiritual strength, and He promises to give it. By His grace, we can finish the race (Spring 100 and the race of life) strong and with endurance! I pray each one of you is renewed, especially this week, as you look to the Lord and wait upon HIM! 💯👏🏼

Spring100 Weekly Meditation
Renewed Strength

Isaiah 40:31 || Week 6

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
Isaiah 40:31

This text speaks of the victory that God’s people shall have, not because of their own strength, but because of the strength He gives them. They shall not faint or grow weary because they wait upon the Lord. It is not in their own power but in His infinite grace that they rise and run.-C.H. Spurgeon

The renewal of strength spoken of here is not merely the recovering of the vigor of the body, but a spiritual renewal that comes from God’s grace. Those who wait upon the Lord are those who humbly depend on His mercy, and they shall experience His sustaining power in their hearts.- John Calvin

In the Old Testament, the psalmist celebrates waiting patiently for the Lord (Psalm 40:1), and Isaiah promises that those “who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31). Waiting on God is a regular refrain in the life of faith. It is an expression of the healthy heart’s desire: “O Lord, we wait for you; your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul” (Isaiah 26:8). And it is an echo of the unparalleled power and grace of God, “who acts for those who wait for him” (Isaiah 64:4).-David Mathis

When the day is long and weary,
When the heart is tired and low,
When the burden seems too heavy,
And the road too steep to go,

I will wait upon the Lord,
For He will make me strong,
He will renew my weary heart,
And help me to carry on.

    My favourite place to walk if I want to get a lot of miles in is trails through the woods! Beaches are beautiful as well but, living in a beach town, I find that it’s usually windier and sand is more tiring to walk on. But if I’m just going for leisure, the beach sure is beautiful! Roadways are great for getting in fast miles, but my boys get bored a lot faster that way.

      I love to walk along our tails to trails. It’s such a great program, converting unused train tracks to walking and biking trails. I’m very thankful for that work!

    We mostly walk on our road. We live in the country, so there’s often interesting things to see.

    So far this spring my favorite place to walk has been at the beach when we went there. I enjoy outdoors, but navigating vehicles in my neighborhood can get exhausting especiallyif the children are with me. I haven’t been able to hit too many trails or tracks so far this spring.

    My favorite place to walk is with my daughter and grandchildren on their trails! But most of my walks are down the halls of my Mom’s apartment or the front sidewalk as I care for her each day. Either way, God is good and the walks are a blessing!

    My favorite place to walk is the local cemetery. It has a very nice paved road for easy walking while I listen to a Timothy Keller or nursing podcast. One lap around combined with a cloverleaf leaf pattern yields 2 miles. It is bordered by trees and pasture making it private and quiet. The headstones tell so many stories and give me plenty to ponder about God and life.

    I like walking on the paved Rail Trail best. It is an old railroad converted into a community walking path. It’s not too hilly, easy on the ankles and knees, and very pretty scenery.

    Mostly getting miles on our quiet country road, with lots of interesting scenery along the way which makes the walls feel short 🙂 or at the park trails just down the road a few minutes.

    I love walking a mile and a half to the park and back! I usually do that once a day, and if I need to get more miles in I’ll walk in our woods across the street. 🙂

    Looks like there were a lot of fun walking groups this week! 😊

    I get most of my miles on our nice country roads in the area. My favorite place to walk is hiking at a state park nearby, but I can’t do that as much with the poison ivy now …
