“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
James 1:2-4
Here we are just a few days away from the Half-Way mark for the 2022 Spring100!🙌🏻💯 I was thinking of all those in this challenge that have faced diverse trials which have slowed them down and threatened to keep them from the 100-mile goal! Torn tendons, broken legs, unexpected changes in work and school schedules, bad weather, and the list goes on. As I think of these trials faced in the walking challenge, I am reminded of the trials we face in the race of life! They can threaten to derail us BUT how thankful I am that we are promised patience will be worked in us through the trials we face that we “may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing”. We are told to “count it all joy”(James 1) and GLORY in these trials “knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed…” (Romans 5:3-5).As we pass the Half-way mark of this 93 day challenge, each of us already has or will be faced with Spring100 setbacks. When these setbacks come your way, DON’T GIVE UP and don’t get discouraged. Keep on persevering and pressing forward, finding your strength in the Lord! So, who is ready to finish Spring100 strong? LET’S GO!!!!
QUESTION: Have you faced any trials/challenges/obsticles that you’ve had to overcome this Spring100 to keep on track and get your miles in?

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:1-2

“let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12
Rebekah
I started Spring100 with a foot injury but, thankfully, I have been able to catch up on my miles the past two weeks without pain! It turned my focus from my own desires to the simple goal of finishing well, by God’s grace.
Don’t give up, and keep your eyes on Jesus!!
Rachel @Spring100
I am praying the Lord for your healing, Rebekah!! Way to go persevering and catching up. May the Lord bless you as you seek to finish well by His grace!! 💯🙋🏼♀️🧡

John Silvey
I haven’t really had any challenges this year, other than a busy schedule! 😬Which is nothing new.
Rachel @Spring100
Great job squeezing in the challenge with your busy schedule! Keep it up, John! 🙋🏼♀️💯
Hannah Stiff
Probably the weather and managing my schedule as a music teacher and tutor make some minor obstacles for me. What has really helped catch me up when I fall behind is the weekend walks with my sisters at our local trail. They enthusiastically brave the elements with me and help log those miles when I need them!
Rachel @Spring100
I am so glad you have your sisters to help you keep on track!! It always makes the miles go faster having good company.🧡 Keep up the great work, Hannah!! 🙋🏼♀️
Abigail Stiff
I don’t really have many obstacles, but one that has been prevalent is rain!🌧☔We have had SO much rain that I’ve had little time this week to walk, but praise Jesus this morning I woke up and there was a blue sky with hardly a cloud in it! Taking walks with my sisters on our local trail and taking walks with our two border collies has been great!🚶♀️ I encourage all to keep going through every hardship because Jesus will give you the help you need. Also don’t forget, LOTS OF PRAYER!!!!🙏🏼 Well I can barely wait to see what this week holds, Bye guys!
Rachel @Spring100
Praise the Lord for blue skies and good walking weather!!! “Also don’t forget, LOTS OF PRAYER!!!!🙏🏼” YES! Amen!!! Praying for you, Abigail!
Bethany C.
I’m logging my first 2 official miles! Got a late start since I had a new baby girl in March!
Rachel @Spring100
Way to go!!!!! Congratulations on that new baby girl. 🥰🥰🥰🥰♥️
Ruthie S.
I think the main obstacle for me this year has just been that I’ve been really busy and the weather hasn’t always been real great for walking but I have been able to press forward and I plan to continue to do so!🙌🙏
Rachel @Spring100
So glad you’ve been able to press forward even with not-so-ideal weather and busy schedule!!👏🏼 Keep it up, Ruthie!! 💯🙋🏼♀️
Sarah Silvey
LOVED seeing everyone’s pictures this week, of friends and strangers alike! And the videos were so great! I have the best and funniest brother, I think! 😀 😉
The only obstacle I’ve had is a busy schedule… I got really behind last week but a long sibling walk got me caught up! <3
John Silvey
Why thank you! I always did think that way about myself!😂
I guess the proper response would be that I am the way I am because I have such an awsome sister!🤣😜😉
Rachel @Spring100
So glad you got caught up!!! Good job, Sarah!!! 👏🏼♥️
Keilah
Thankfully, we haven’t had much bad weather so far! I’ve been able to walk almost every day, and hit 50 miles today! Excited to be half way done, and am excited for another 50 miles!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

FABULOUS JOB, Keilah!!!!!!🙌🏻♥️
Caroline Flournoy
I haven’t really had any obstacles except for the very unpredictable weather.😂😜😉
Great job everyone!!💙 I love all happy smiles and pictures.🥰 Keep walking!!🚶🎊😃
Rachel @Spring100
Way to go pressing forward even in bad weather!!! Keep it up, Caroline! 👏🏼
Martha Joy
Woohoo!! Yet another fabulous 100MileMonday post, Rachel!🤩🙌🏻 GREAT JOB everyone! Keep up those smiles along the miles!😉
Thankfully we haven’t had many set-backs here so far in our miles! We’ve been enjoying family walks almost every evening, which help keep a steady pace with our miles. We also had such a LOVELY group of folks come over on Saturday for a walk and fellowship together. 36 of us in all (some walking, some being pushed or carried😉) made our way down the road, and gained anywhere from 3.24 to 4.58 miles for our Spring100!
For any of you who are far behind, KEEP going!!!🙌🏻 You can do it in the Lord’s strength! Even if you haven’t walked a single mile, you’d only have to walk about 2 miles a day to finish your 100 miles in time, and that’s still doable! Walking with groups is also REALLY helpful to get a lot of miles in, and enjoy visits and making memories in the process!
I hope ya’ll have a wonderful, blessed week! Keep walking onward and upward, looking unto Jesus!➡️⬆️🙌🏻
Rachel @Spring100
I so loved hearing about your HUGE Spring100 walk and fellowship, Martha Joy!! 💯😍 Great job organizing that special event.😁
“Even if you haven’t walked a single mile, you’d only have to walk about 2 miles a day to finish your 100 miles in time” YES!!!!!!!!!! Great reminder!!!
Liz M.
My challenge this year is my baby girl’s nap schedule and some very high winds.
Rachel @Spring100
I hope you’re able to find some great walking time, Liz!!
shericlaude
I was struggling to get my 100 miles in so that I could walk the last one with my former walking buddy, Gita Barker. We walked 3 miles a day together for many years. Now she walks 1 mile a day (normally) and lives in another state. But that is still amazing, considering she will be 101 in a month, and I will be 70 in 5 months! How fast time goes!! Was so blessed that God allowed another time to for us to be together, though we have all of eternity ahead of us!!!
The obstacle that I faced was back and hip pain from so much walking, but I was pursuing the goal of completing the 100th mile with Gita, so the pain was secondary. I just pushed through, and it eased off once I returned to a saner walking schedule. 🙂
Rachel @Spring100
I am so so glad you got that special time with, Gita!! What a way to celebrate 100 miles!!!!!👏🏼🙌🏻🙋🏼♀️
