“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”
Psalm 32:8

How was this past week for you all?? We’ve had some crazy weather here in North East Texas for week 4. From Sunny and hot to super chilly, extreme wind storms, and then very very wet all in the past 7 days😅💨⛈☀️. Brrr… I had to pull out my winter jacket for a few days then quickly find a short sleeve shirt and sunglasses for others!😅 As I have been walking this week, I have been meditating on the beautiful truth that The Lord God directs our steps. We are told in Proverbs 16:9 that “A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.” Jeremiah 10:23 says, “O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.” and in Psalm 32:8 The Lord God promises “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” I don’t know about you but this truth that He directs us in the way we should go gives me the boldness to take the next step in faith. 🙌🏻💯 With that blessed truth, let’s conquer this new week of Sp100 walking/running!! 🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️

QUESTION: As I see photos, I see such a variety of walking conditions! From sunny beaches to snowy paths. ☀️❄️ What kind of weather have you been enjoying this past week of Spring100 walks?? Comment below and let us know!

Our weather has been typically crazy GA weather….from 78 one day, to 48 a few days later. With some rain and windy weather this week, almost all of my miles have been walked inside. It allows me to get miles walked much quicker while my kids are playing or napping.

The weather here in San Jose, California has been very nice these days. Not too hot and not too cold. It is very pleasant to walk/jog outdoors. The only drawback for me is that I have an allergy and I have to stay indoors if the pollen level is too high.

I enjoy walking when the sun is out making the temperature just the right amount of warmth and the breeze lightly blowing to keep me cool. 😊 It is also really nice if you have shade from great marvelous trees! Have a great day everyone!

The weather here in Arkansas has been a bit crazy…some warm days with 80 degree temps, then some nights that got down into the 30’s, and LOTS of wind! 💨
As I was reading Hosea, I couldn’t help but think of the parallels between backslidden Israel and America today – “There is no truth or mercy or knowledge of God in the land” and, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” The theme in the book of God’s everlasting love was encouraging. It is amazing to think of the Father’s great love and mercy toward us, even when we go away from Him!
“I will betroth you to Me forever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy.”

Here in southern Manitoba last week was slightly warmer weather (in the low 40’s), but windy, windy, windy. This week will be different as lots of snow is in the forecast.

Unfortunately for my sister and I, it has rained or been bitterly cold and windy about 4 days out of every week since the challenge started. We’ll be making up the extra miles when the weather becomes a little less inclement, haha.

Some gorgeous location pictures this week!!! Some clever and some humorous pics!! So much fun!

Florida weather has ranged from chilly to hot. Lots of fluctuating at this time of year. You never know what you’re going to get. We even had a couple of thunderstorms.

My takeaway from Hosea this week is the amazing fact that God uses life experiences to expound and teach us about Himself and ourselves. In the case of Israel, He used Hosea and Gomer to teach them about their unfaithfulness and abandonment of God. They ran after other “lovers” other than the Lord, who was the One who took care of them and loved them; therefore, He turned them over to judgment because they had forsaken Him for the golden calf and Baal. God laments for His lost people! That hits me hard every time I read it.

I rejoice not in the judgment of Israel, (though God was perfectly just to judge them) but in the prophesied salvation granted to another people in the place of Israel. That mercy included me as a Gentile. “…I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God.” (Hosea 2:23)

Hosea has wonderful verses tucked among all the decrees of judgment. “Come and let us return unto the Lord: For he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.” (Hosea 6:1) God is so willing for reconciliation!

And the wonderful truth of the gospel that God doesn’t accept works, He only accepts His mercy given to us. (Salvation is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.) “For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.” (Hosea 6:6)

I love Hosea 10:12, about breaking up your fallow ground and seeking the Lord, and then there is the prophetic verse about Jesus: “When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.” (Hosea 11:1)

This past week here in Central Alabama has been full of rain and strong winds! We were able to have 2 days of walking in the sunshine, though! Looking forward to the upcoming week to catch up on miles I missed and get focused on the challenge again!

The weather here in west central Wisconsin has been pretty chilly & cloudy/rainy/windy for the past few weeks. Last week we got some snow, but it melted by the end of the day. This past weekend was nice & sunny and warm (got up to 60 degrees I think)! It has been a little bit of a challenge to find times to walk that are not raining or really yucky outside, but I am thankful for the few beautiful days we’ve had that were enjoyable to walk in!
My sister Karen got a nasty injury on her leg this week, and has been stuck on the couch this whole week. It will set her back a bit in the Spring100 challenge as she can’t really walk on her leg for a while, but she is still hoping to catch up later & complete the challenge. Prayers for her to heal quickly, would be appreciated! Thanks!
