“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Ephesians 5:15-16
I am so excited to see everyone entering week 4 of the Spring100 challenge with so much energy and enthusiasm!! ๐๐ป WAY TO GO!!! How was week 3 for you?? This past week I was reminded how important it is to redeem the time. We are told in Ephesians 5 to walk circumspectly(with watchfulness every way), redeeming the time for the days are evil! Did you know that every mile you walk for Spring100 can be more than just a time to walk and keep physically fit? It is true!! Your time spent walking the Spring100 can be a time you dedicate to praying, listening to scripture, or audio sermons. It can be a time you use to memorize and recite Scripture! Your spring100 miles can be a time to invest in relationships by walking with a family member or friend, enjoying edifying conversation, and seeking to encourage them in the Lord. I want to encourage you as we enter week 4 and you head out to grab your miles to be intentional about redeeming the time. Make your walks/runs more than just grabbing your miles… make them edifying and spiritually uplifting! Ready? Let’s do it! ๐๐ป๐๐๐ปโโ๏ธ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ
QUESTION: How do you spend your time during your Spring100 walks? Listening to audio? Enjoying a good conversation with friends or family? Or perhaps dodging puddles and avoiding the neighborhood dogs… or if you live in the country watching out for the cows๐๐ฎ?

โWherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.โ

Love this SO much! Praise the Lord for another week of running/walking the Spring 100! Definitely could not have done it without HIS strength!

I love the picture from Portugal! It’s like we get to travel vicariously through this Spring 100 challenge. I also notice someone wearing an orange shirt. Which challenge year was that? Awesome pictures! I love this time of year. There is nothing like viewing God’s creation in spectacular spring colors! Thanks so much to all participants and for our host Rachel for this wonderful yearly challenge!!! Y.J
Rachel @Spring100
“There is nothing like viewing Godโs creation in spectacular spring colors! ” There really isn’t! His creation is magnificent! ๐

Most the time Iโm walking with my husband so we spend time chatting and catching up especially with all the overnight work heโs had lately

I spend my Southwest Arkansas Spring100 walks memorizing scripture and praying. I usually do 5 laps around our driveway and spend the first 3 or 4 memorizing and the last couple praying. It is such a great way to start the day with meditating on God’s Word and then talking to Him. Thanks Rachel for serving God in this way, our family has been truly blessed through Spring100!
Rachel @Spring100
Love how you spend your Spring100 walks!!!!! So good!! ๐๐ผ
“Thanks Rachel for serving God in this way, our family has been truly blessed through Spring100!” Aw, praise the Lord! It is a pleasure. ๐๐ผโโ๏ธโฅ๏ธ Ps 115:1

What a great and productive way to spend your walking time!!๐ Thank you SO much for hosting us this week!๐ฅฐ We had so much fun!๐

Hi everyone! I usually walk with my older sister, and most of the time our Great Pyrenees, Bella. It is ironic Rachael that you mentioned dodging other dogs, because that is what we are doing most of the time if we take Bella with us. ๐ She getโs really excited if she sees others that are her kind. ๐ Well I hope yaโll are having a blessed week! Keep up with those miles better than me! ๐๐๐๐๐ป Bye for now!
Rachel @Spring100
Sounds like Bella is loving the challenge!๐ฏ๐๐ I have heard lots of Spring100ers dodging dogs this season. And some even having cows run after them! ๐๐
Sarah F.
Thank you for the reminder to be intentional about redeeming the time while walking the spring 100! Lately I’ve mostly been walking with my siblings and often our 5 little nieces have joined us along with their mama! So, a lot of my walks have bee spent visiting/chatting with family, but I’m also hoping to get some walks in this week where I can work on reviewing scripture memory! I have been doing the Spring 100 reading plan! One verse that stood out to me was Daniel 4:37ย “Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.” I think it’s beautiful to see Nebuchadnezzar praising God after he’s been humbled. And what a reminder and example of how God is able to abase and humble the proud!
Rachel @Spring100
“So, a lot of my walks have bee spent visiting/chatting with family” That is a great way to spend the time! Catching up and enjoying encouraging conversation.๐๐ผโฅ๏ธ Love what you pointed out in Daniel 4!! THANK YOU, Sarah!

I spend my Spring100 walks memorizing the Scripture, praying and enjoying the scene. My plan is to memorize the 5 discourses of Jesus is the Gospel of Matthew (5-7, 10, 13, 18, 24-25). So far I have memorized Matthew 5-6.
Rachel @Spring100
Great job!! Such a fabulous way to redeem the time!! ๐๐ป
Hannah and Lauren
I am continuing to enjoy this Spring100 challenge! This morning, I had fun going on a 2 mile walk with my mom and several of my siblings. This spring, I have enjoyed praying, reading and spending time with my family on my walks and runs. I also love that this challenge is in the springtime so we can get out and enjoy all of the beautiful weather! Happy walking everyone! Keep your eyes on Jesus.
~Hannah
Rachel @Spring100
So glad you’re enjoying those family walks!! They really are special. ๐ค๐ฏ
Amanda
Most of my walks are spent memorizing Scripture and praying. Once a week we have a sibling walk where we just visit, which is really nice.
I am doing the reading plan and really enjoyed reading through Daniel! One part of his story that stuck out to me was how he โpurposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the kingโs delicacies.โ (Daniel 1:8) Daniel didnโt make this decision here because he was afraid of violating some Jewish law or going against how he had been raised, but he took his stand because he had made a decision in his heart to honor God. What a great reminder for us as believers with how we live in a day and time when we are being told by the world to compromise on our beliefs!
Hannah and Lauren
Thank you for sharing this, Amanda! What a good reminder to steadfastly honor God!
~Hannah
Rachel @Spring100
” he purposed in his heart ” What a great reminder. It wasn’t out of compulsion but it was from a sincere heart and desire to honor the Lord. What a wonderful reminder! THANK YOU, Amanda! ๐
Kina Lamb
I love memorizing Scripture as I walk! It takes 6 laps around our property to walk 1.1 miles, and I try to memorize one verse per lap. (I can recite it about 50 times before the lap is over!) This ends up being 600 verses I can accomplish during the Spring100 challenge! And it’s really not too difficult, especially once I get into the swing of things, and I’ve been memorizing for years… it just gets easier and easier! ๐
Naomi Auerbach
Wow, that is awesome! Great job, Kina!!
Rachel @Spring100
๐ This is a wonderful memorizing method, Kina!!!! I have to do 5 laps on the drive… I should try your 50 times per lap routine!! ๐ฏ๐
Sarah H
It varies according to the day – sometimes I’ve been listening to a history tape, other times I am praying, and others I am being a referee between my children. ๐
Rachel @Spring100
“others I am being a referee between my children. ๐” That is SUPER important! ๐
Abigail Stiff
This is so encouraging to see all these people! Great pictures this week!๐ท๐Last week I didn’t have time to comment but I wanted to say that being out in nature and taking walks I just feel so close to God and His presence! It has been such a thrilling experience! It was also nice to see familiar faces! When I walk I usually listen to my ipod.๐งI like listening to Christian audio dramas. Thankyou Rachel again for putting this all together. I also loved the hilarious video at the beginning! Well, I’ll see you guys all next week! Happy walking ya’ll!๐๐ถโโ๏ธ
Rachel @Spring100
“It has been such a thrilling experience!” PRAISE THE LORD! I have been praying it would be just that for you all.๐ค
Hannah Stiff
Hmmm… I enjoy listening to music, (helps when the songs are fast, snappy bluegrass ones!), or audio dramas. Oftentimes I talk with God, which is super special and a highlight of my day! Or if my Border Collie dogs are with me, I try to keep an eye on them and make sure they’re following my trail. (:
Rachel @Spring100
Those talks with God during your walk sounds like a perfect way to redeem the time!! Great job, Hannah! ๐ฏโฅ๏ธ
Bethany
This year, I’ve walked every mile so far with my sister, which has been really fun! We’ve been doing a lot of writing recently, and our walking time gives us the opportunity to talk through things and help each other out. It’s nice to have these dedicated times for talking while getting our miles in!!
Rachel @Spring100
So glad you and Hannah have been able to enjoy your Spring100 walks together!! I can imagine you two are able to cover a variety of topics during that time. ๐ค๐
Grace
I love to memorize while I walk and I also pray and sing scripture songs. This year, however, my mom and brother are joining me so we have a good time chatting and sharing our hearts. Just this morning my mom shared a little bit about our family legacy of faith and prayer! Whatever I do, I try to redeem the time and make it profitable in at least two ways! lol I have a slight obsession with productivity. xD
Rachel @Spring100
“Whatever I do, I try to redeem the time and make it profitable in at least two ways!” THAT IS SO GOOD, Grace!! Keep it up!! โฅ๏ธ๐๐ป
Rebekah
When I am walking/running alone I enjoy memorizing scripture. But when Iโm with others I focus on conversation or making it interesting (and tiring ๐) for the little ones.
Rachel @Spring100
Keep up the great work, Rebekah!! ๐ฏ๐
Jon Paul Thomas
Personally, when I’m not dodging puddles and looking at cows, I like to pray some while I’m running. ๐ I also go on some walks and will usually walk with a sibling or my mom. But for the most part I just go on runs and enjoy the scenery!
Rachel @Spring100
Great job, John Paul!! ๐๐ผ๐ฏ
Hattush
When I’m walking, I enjoy listening to audiobooks. ๐ I just started End of the Spear by Steve Saint. When I’m not doing that, I’m walking with my little siblings or listening to music. ๐
Rachel @Spring100
audiobooks are so much fun!! ๐๐ผ
Barbara Mazzacco
I am memorizing Isaiah chapter 12 while I walk. I also sing hymns and pray.
Rachel @Spring100
๐๐ผ๐ PERFECT chapter to work on this Spring100!!!!!
Emma Flournoy
If I’m taking a walk by myself I usually think and pray, and this year I’m hoping to memorize a good chunk of Psalm 119 with my brother Morgan when we walk together. It’s going a bit slower than planned, but we shall see.
Shoutout to the Silvey family for hosting a mostly-random family whom they mostly didn’t know! ๐ It was great to meet y’all. Thanks for making us welcome! (It feels hilarious to BE the family mentioned in your video; I hear about other Spring100ers meeting up, but never thought of us being those people. ๐)
Amanda
Psalm 119 is a great potion of Scripture to memorize! Weโve memorized some of it as a family, and it really does help to do it with someone else.
We SO enjoyed getting to meet yโall and visit this past weekend! It is always such a blessing to meet like-minded families. Thank you for coming and making the long trip! Haha, yeah! ๐๐
Amanda
that was supposed to be *portion* of Scripture. ๐
Emma Flournoy
Scripture portions and potions alike, duly noted. ๐
Yay, I’m so glad, and same! Our pleasure, to be sure. ๐ We appreciate your hospitality.
Rachel @Spring100
great job memorizing while you walk, Emma!! I am so glad you had that fun time with the Silvey Family.๐๐ผ๐
Emma Flournoy
Thank you! ๐
John Silvey
If I listen to something it’s always music. Southern Gospel or Bluegrass Gospel for the most part. Otherwise I like to use that time just to think, pray or sing at the top of my lungs!๐
Oh, we were most happy for all you Flournoys to descend on our house this weekend! ๐คฃ๐
It was a very fun weekend, we really enjoyed meeting all you guys!
Emma Flournoy
It’s always the most fun to descend upon the houses of those who genuinely enjoy having their houses descended upon. ๐๐ We appreciate it.
Caroline Flournoy
Yay for singing Southern Gospel or Bluegrass Gospel when you’re walking!!๐ It’s the best!๐คฃ
Thanks so much for having us! It was so great to meet y’all! ๐
Rachel @Spring100
“sing at the top of my lungs!” Love it! ๐๐๐ป
Sarah Silvey
Thank you, Rachel, for the reminder to redeem the time as we walk! I normally recite Scripture when I walk, or just think, pray, or sing. ๐ I really enjoyed reading through Daniel (one of my favorite books!) these past two weeks, and a verse that jumped out at me was Daniel 5:23b- “the God who holds your breath in His hand and owns all your ways, you have not glorified.” What a reminder that God is sovereign, and that I should be glorifying Him with my very breath and all my ways, because HE is the One who gives them to me!
Oh, what an amazing weekend we had with the Flournoys! I still cannot believe my family was able to keep it a secret and give me the biggest surprise of my life to walk inside and see my friend sitting on our couch!! ๐ We connected through Spring100/Rachel’s blog and developed such a sweet friendship, so it was a wonderful joy to get to go on a Spring100 walk TOGETHER! <3
Caroline Flournoy
YES!! It was an amazing weekend!! ๐ It was so much fun to surprise you and to be able to walk together IN PERSON!!๐ฅฐ ๐๐ Y’all were the best hosts, too!๐
Rachel @Spring100
“What a reminder that God is sovereign, and that I should be glorifying Him with my very breath and all my ways, because HE is the One who gives them to me! ” AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amber
My husband and I are walking the Spring100 with our little ones who are 7, 6, 4, and nearly 2, so there’s basically just a lot of little kid chatter. ๐
Rachel @Spring100
Ah, such a memorable time for you all!! So glad you can do this together. ๐๐ผ๐๐ป
shericlaude
I’m participating in the Bible reading program, though I have a hard time stopping with one chapter. ๐
The thing that most encouraged me from Daniel this past week, is the wonderful fact that our Sovereign God holds all the details of history: past, present and future, in His hands! He knows the end from the beginning, which means we don’t have to worry about world events or anything else. Nothing takes God by surprise, and nothing happens without His permission, plans and orchestration. He truly is Creator God–the God of creation and the God of history!
Rachel @Spring100
“wonderful fact that our Sovereign God holds all the details of history: past, present and future, in His hands!” AMEN! Such a great reminder for my day. THANK YOU, Sheri!! And thank you for formulating such a wonderful reading plan!!๐๐
shericlaude
You are most welcome! It was amazingly, absolutely and perfectly from the Lord!
Martha Joy
Woohoo, GREAT JOB on Week 3 everyone!!!๐๐ป๐ฏ It’s so fun to see so many familiar and new faces this week! Thank you, Rachel, for putting together each of the 100MileMonday posts, which are always a highlight of the week!๐ค So far this Spring100, my miles have been mostly spent with family and friends! It’s such a special time to enjoy evenings (or afternoons or mornings๐) together!! It’s good to catch up and often enjoy lots of good laughs and memory-making!โฅ๏ธ
Rachel @Spring100
I am so glad you’ve had that time with family and friends this Spring100!! Definitely makes for lasting blessed memories. ๐๐ผ๐ฏ
Ruthie S.
I love to walk with my family and friends! We always enjoy talking about everything and anything that comes up. So much fun!!๐
Great pictures again this week y’all! Rachel, thank you for putting this together!
Rachel @Spring100
THANK YOU, for your sweet encouragement, Ruthie!!! I agree, walks with family and friends are the best!! ๐
Caroline Flournoy
I like to spend my walks singing, thinking, talking with friends and family that are walking with me, and more singing.๐๐ฅฐ I probably sing most when I’m walking, because I love to sing when I’m by myself.๐ Amazing pictures everyone!!โค Keep on walking!!๐
Rachel @Spring100
“I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.” ๐ค๐๐ผ Singing is a great way to redeem the time!!
