βWherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.β Hebrews 12:1-2
2023 would be the 7th year for the Spring100 Challenge. I want to first take a moment and thank each and every one of you for your past participation. It has been a joy to host the Spring100 and walk with you over the years!
As we enter the 7th year of the Spring100, I have chosen to take a year of rest. A year to step back, evaluate, restructure, and streamline the challenge. My goal is to come back in 2024 with new content and fresh energy!
My reason for this decision is twofold:
1.) First and foremost, With 3,000 participants last year, this challenge has grown into a ministry that I can no longer run on my own and one that I feel biblically needs male leadership.
2.).Secondly, Due to the vast growth of spring100 over the years, the challenge has become financially overwhelming! We have been blessed with donations from Spring100ers across the world but these donations have not covered the cost of this challenge. In 2022 we fell drastically short of reaching our donation goals!
I will be seeking the Lord for wisdom in these two important areas of the Spring100 challenge and ask you to join me in praying for the Lordβs direction.
My hope and prayer is to see each and every one of you next year, Lord willing! Until then, may the Lord richly bless you and keep you as you seek and serve Him. In every season, He remains faithful!
βWherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.β Hebrews 12:1-2
βTherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.β 1 Corinthians 15:58

βWherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.β Hebrews 12:1-2
“Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:8-12

β Would you do me a favor? It would be such a blessing to have the FINAL 100MileMonday post(NEXT WEEK) filled with faces of Spring100ers across the globe. Even if you have already reached 100+ miles, go grab one last Spring100 walk and snap a photo. Praise the Lord, you are walking βalongsideβ hundreds of other Spring100ers this year and only a small fraction have sent in photos. Letβs make the last post THE BEST YET! Send in your photos and short Spring100 VIDEOS to Photos@Spring100Challenge.com by Sunday morning, 10AM(cst) June 19TH to be featured in the FINISH LINE GRANDE FINALLY!

Would you take a moment and give fellow Spring100ers who have just a few miles or maybe what seems an “impossible number” of miles left a good dose of encouragement? ππ» So many have finished BUT many are still working hard to make it to the finish line. From injuries to busy schedules to the unexpected that finds its way into our Spring days, getting behind happens. Letβs encourage them on in the Lord! ππΌββοΈππ»ββοΈππ½ββοΈππΌ

βWherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.β Hebrews 12:1-2
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.β Romans 6:23

PLEASE READ: Here we are! Week 12 of the 2022 Spring100 is complete. WAY TO GO! This week I want to take a break from our normal Spring100 photo sharing and share something extremely important. This post will be a bit different so photos sent in for week 12 will be posted in our 100MileMonday week 13 post! Thank you. π―ππ»
As this year’s challenge consists of a LARGE GROUP of walkers from around the world, I do not know each of you individually but I care deeply for the soul of every single person participating in this challenge. With such a large group, I am reminded that there are very likely Spring100er participants out there who are not saved by the shed blood of Jesus Christ and are dead in trespasses and sin, headed toward hell. This breaks my heart! For those reading this who are not born again Christians, there is good news! “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8! Salvation is freely offered to all who call upon the name of the Lord. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13! We are told in Acts 3:19 to “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…” So, today, I want to ask you… are you saved? “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2. Please take time to read the below. For those who have been saved by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we have a job to do! Jesus Christ commanded us to “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15. As we run the race of life, let’s be the salt and light we are called to be in a dark and dying world, giving a reason for the hope that lies within(1 Peter 3:15)! May we each enter into another week of this Spring100 challenge taking these truths to heart. π―
βRighteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and truth go before Your face.β (Psalm 89:14)
In civil law, a good judge must punish crime. If he turns a blind eye to injustice, then he is corrupt and he himself should be punished.
In one ten-year period in the United States, 100,000 murderers were never brought to justice. These were unsolved crimes. If God turns a blind eye to those murderers, then He is corrupt by nature. It makes sense that if He is good and just, He should be angry with those who have taken the lives of others, and He should punish murderers, rapists, etc. This is the teaching of the Bibleβthat God willβby no means clear the guilty.β He βwill bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.β βGod is angry with the wicked every day.β
2. HIS WORD SAYS βTHE WAGES OF SIN IS DEATHβ
βSin is transgression of the Law.β (1 John 3:4)
Letβs look briefly at the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20), and see if we have kept Godβs Law:
You shall have no other gods before Me
You shall not make yourself a graven image
You shall not take Godβs name in vain
Remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy
Honor your father and mother
You shall not murder
You shall not commit adultery
You shall not steal
You shall not lie
You shall not covet
Before we say we have obeyed the Commandments, this is what someone would be like if he kept the Lawβhe would always love God with all his heart, with all his soul, with all his strength, and with all his mind, and love his neighbor as much as he has loved himself. He has never made a god to suit himself (either with his hands or in his mind).
He has always given Godβs name reverence, kept the Sabbath holy, honored his parents implicitly, and never once has he been βangry with his brother without a cause.β He has never hated anyone or had lust in his heart. He has never stolen even a paper clip or ballpoint pen, or told as much as a βwhiteβ lie, and not once desired anything that belongs to someone else. He is, and always has been βpure in heart,β perfect in thought, word, and deed.
The truth is, we are not like that. We have all βsinnedβ many times, and therefore we have stored up Godβs wrath, which will be revealed on Judgment Day. The proof that we have sinned will be our death, and after death we must face God in judgment.
Think of itβif He has seen our every thought, word, and deed, and if He is going to bring all of our sins out as evidence of our guilt on the Day of Judgment, we will all be found to be guilty. Our conscience has shown us right from wrong; we will be without excuse. God will give us justice, and Hell will be the place of our eternal punishment. βFor there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.β
3. GOD IS RICH IN MERCY TO ALL THAT CALL UPON HIM
βBut God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved usβ¦β (Ephesians 2:4)
A youth once borrowed a fast car, and in a drunken stupor, sped through his hometown at 120 m.p.h. Since everything was horse-drawn in his country town, there were no laws against speeding. So the council passed a law saying that 30 m.p.h. was the maximum speed, and that any transgressors would be fined $100 for every m.p.h. over the speed limit.
On his way back through the town, the speedster decided to pull the same prank. He was apprehended, tried, and found guilty by his father, who was the townβs only judge. He was fined $9,000, and because he had no money and no words of defense, the youth was led off to prison. As he sat in despair behind bars, his father appeared at the door, and told him that he had sold all his own prized possessions and paid the fine for him. The son couldnβt believe that he loved him that much. They embraced as they never had before, and walked off in a new-found relationship, bonded together with love.
Thatβs a picture of what God did for us through the gospel
We have all broken Godβs Law a multitude of times, but God came to this earth in the person of Jesus Christ, and paid the fineββFor God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.β The Bible says, βThe wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.β
Jesus satisfied eternal justice, and then rose from the dead, defeating death. Hundreds saw Him after His resurrection; itβs no fairy tale. Jesus fulfilled all the prophecies about the promised Savior, written in the Holy Scriptures hundreds of years before His birth. But just as we cannot earn a gift, so we cannot earn eternal life by our good worksββFor by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.β
4. GOD OFFERS ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST
βHe who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.β (John 5:24)
Lifeβs greatest mystery, death, was destroyed by the One who said, βI am the way, the truth, and the lifeβ¦β The Bible says, βHe who has the Son has lifeβ¦β
To find the way to God, to understand the truth of Godβs Word, and to receive the gift of eternal life, begin by repentance and faith through a prayer like this: βDear God, I understand that I have broken Your Law and sinned against You. Please forgive my sins. Thank you that Jesus suffered and died on the cross in my place and rose again. I now place my trust in Him as my Savior and Lord. In Jesusβ name I pray. Amen.β
If you have repented and trusted in Jesus, then your sins are forgiven and you can now partake in the blessings of βthe New Covenant.β Here are just ten of Godβs exceedingly great and precious promises:
God will supply all of your needs according to His riches (Phil. 4:19).
Jesus will be with you in trials, promising never to leave nor forsake you (Heb. 13:5).
The Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth, and give you the power to live a holy life (Jn. 16:13).
You are cleansed by the blood of Jesus ChristβGod has removed your sins as far as the East is from the West (Ps. 103:12).
As you abide in Christ, you will see the βfruitβ of His Spirit begin to manifest in your life (Gal. 5:22-25).
As you read the Bible daily, it will come alive to you and cause you to grow in your faith (1 Pet. 2:1-3).
When you pray, God will hear you and answer your prayers (1 Jn. 5:15).
The cross will be continual evidence of Godβs love for you (Rom. 5:8).
God βis able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joyβ (Jude 1:24).
Search the Scriptures daily, and see what God has in store for those that love Him. Honor Christβs command to be baptized, and find yourself a Jesus-centered, Bible-teaching church and commit yourself to it.
βWherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.β Hebrews 12:1-2

“Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” Isaiah 40:28-29
Here we are, ending the month of May and entering the month of June! We are on the “home stretch” for the 2022 Spring100 and I am so excited to see each and every one of you persevering and pressing forward to the finish line. I was reminded of the above verses from Isaiah 40 this week! I know there are Spring100 participants out there that are feeling like they can’t make it to the finish line. You are ready to call it quits and “throw in the towel”! BUT DON’T QUIT. The Lord God can and will renew your strength! Push it out and see how far you can get in His strength. As we find ourselves running the spiritual race of life we will also find ourselves seasons of spiritual “burn out”. Times we are ready to give up! It is in the times of our feeling our utter weakness that we see His strength is perfected in us. I love the promise found in Psalm 73:24, “Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.” He renews us, strengthens us, and will bring us to our spiritual “Finish Line” in His strength by His grace! “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27:13-14! Alright, y’all ready to conquer another week of Spring100 walking?? The finish line is just around the corner… let’s get there together in The Lord’s strength!ππΌπ―

βWherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.β Hebrews 12:1-2.
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9
Ladies and Gentlemen…. we are officially just 30 days from the end of the Spring100 Challenge! Over 2/3rds of the way!! The Finish Line is in sight and I am so excited to already see so many finished and waiting for us to join them there. π ππΌββοΈππ»ββοΈ Now is the time to NOT GIVE UP! Don’t grow weary and keep on pressing forward. The great news is if you are REALLY BEHIND, you still have time to catch up!! If you haven’t even walked a single mile yet, you can still easily get to the 100-mile mark.π― According to google, the average walking pace is 3-4 miles per hour. If you still have all 100 miles to accomplish for this challenge, you can easily reach that 100-mile goal by dedicating 1 hour and walking 3.5 miles a day! If you don’t have a solid hour to dedicate to walking, split up the walks into 2 30-minute segments or even 4 15-minute quick walking breaks. I am so excited to see each and every one of you at the 2022 Spring100 Finish Line! As we set our eyes on the Spring100 Prize(spiffy custom printed Spring100 T-shirt) I am reminded of our spiritual reward as we run the race of life. Genesis 15:1 tells us “After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.” Set your eyes on the Prize, Jesus Christ… the Author and Finisher of our faith and RUN! I am praying The Lord God strengthens, equips, and encourages you to finish strong in HIM… Let’s do this! ππ»π
