WEEK 10 MILEAGE FORM

…………………………

“Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
Proverbs 4:25-27

Here we are entering week 11! ? The finish line is so close and so many of you have actually already crossed it. Well done! The question I’ve been asked is “If I already finished my 100 miles should I still log my miles and interact in the 100MileMonday posts?” ABSOLUTELY! ? We have a few participants who are on 200 miles but continuing to log miles, send in photos, and encourage fellow Spring100ers with comments.  SO thankful for that! ?? This week’s Spring100 Calendar verses are Proverbs 4:25-26.  In these verses we are instructed, just like we are in Hebrews 12, to considering our path carefully, keeping our steps free from the snare of sin, and keep our eyes steadfastly fixed. Fixed on truth, fixed on holiness, fixed on Christ! I was blessed by this little tidbit:

To the path of truth and holiness, without turning or looking to the right hand or left, as it is afterwards expressed; to the word of truth, as the rule to walk by; to Christ, the author and finisher of faith, from whom all grace, and the supplies of it, are to be had; and to the mark, for the prize of the high calling of God; and thine eyelids look straight before thee;
to the precepts of the Word, to observe them; to the promises of it for encouragement; to the examples of the saints gone before, as motives to excite diligence, and to exercise patience, faith, and hope; to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life, and to the blessed hope laid up in heaven.-John Gill

May we carefully and diligently ponder the path before us as we run the race before us, pursuing truth and holiness.  That is my prayer for each one of us this week! Alright y’all, are you ready to conquer week 11 of the Spring100? Continue to keep steadfastly focused on Christ, set big goals, and seek to accomplish them in the strength of the Lord. Have fun!???

2 questions for this week!!  1.) What is the strangest thing you have seen during your Spring100 walks/runs?? 2.) How many of you have already completed the 100 miles and are pushing forward for more?? Comment below answering one or both questions! Have fun walking/running week 11!!

????DON’T FORGET! To make the 100MileMonday posts fun and interactive, I need to hear from YOU! Leave comments below and feel free to comment on other Spring100er’s comments. WEEK 9 MILEAGE FORM

…………………………

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”
Col 3:1-4

How was week 9  of the SPRING100 for y’all? You are doing a wonderful job and from the pictures, this week’s major theme was “family vacation”! ? Week 9 was a great week for me! I will admit, it has been a BIG challenge[even with as much as I love walking] to get all my hoped for miles in. ? Lots happening here in East Texas with my family and work but the Lord shows His mercies every single day and gives me ample opportunity to sneak a half mile in here and there throughout the day until I’ve met my daily goals!! From what I am hearing from many of you via email, you all are getting excited and nervous  and even more excited ? as we round the corner for the Spring100 finish line! So many of you are ahead of schedule and that is fantastic. ?? Some of you are just going to very very barely make it to that 100 mile mark unless a mad dash is made these next few weeks BUT we have 30 entire days left in this challenge and each day offers fantastic opportunity to advance, get ahead, or get caught up. Keep on keeping on y’all!?? I was doing some fun calculations today during my walk regarding Spring100 and how many miles could get done in the next 30 days. Just a little something to encourage and push you forward:

We have 30 days left:

  • If you are 30 miles away from reaching the 100 mile goal: You are right on track. Only 1 mile a day necessary for the remainder of the Spring100 challenge
  • If you are 50 miles away from reaching the 100 mile goal: you will only need to walk 1.7 miles a day to finish the Spring100 challenge 100 miles strong! At a moderately average and comfortable pace, that is only 35 minutes of walking a day!
  • If you find your 70 miles away from reaching the 100 mile goal: you would only have to walk 2.4 miles a day to make up for lost miles and finish with your full 100 miles on June 20th!! 2.4 miles can easily be walked in 50 minutes or divided between a morning and evening walk for 25 minutes per walk!
  • For those who have found life has kept them from even beginning the 100 miles of this Spring100 challenge: you would only have to walk 3.5 miles a day for the next 30 days to make that 100 mile mark and win the challenge! 3.5 miles at a moderately fast pace could be walked in an hour or you could slowly jog it in about 35 minutes! OR you could do 2 miles in the morning and then enjoy an evening 1.5 mile stroll with your husband/children/siblings. ?

So, if you are feeling like you just can’t catch up, take heart and keep on going! One mile at a time. ?   We are so close to the finish line that I can ALMOST see it ahead. I cannot wait to see you all finish strong!  May the Lord richly bless you for week 10 and may you steadfastly set your gaze on Him and make your way toward the finish line! ?

?? Week 10 QUESTION! Are you walking/running a little bit everyday, or taking longer walks just a few times per week? AND Do you have any walking tips for fellow Spring100ers who are slightly behind? Comment below and don’t forget to encourage other Spring100 participants!

WEEK 8 MILEAGE FORM

…………………………

“Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not”
2 Corinthians 4:1

Here we are at week 9  of the Spring100!! ?? How was week 8 for you all? As we move forward and enter week 9, we will find many distractions that will threaten to hinder us from meeting our walking/running goals BUT don’t lose heart and don’t give up.  You can do it!! Just like in our physical exercise, we are going to find “distractions” that threaten to hinder us from running with endurance in our spiritual race too!

Distraction:a thing that prevents someone from giving full attention to something else.
“And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.” 1 Cor 7:35

We are told to run in such a way that we may obtain the prize[1 Cor 9:24]! We are called to run with everything in us to the finish line, keeping our eyes focused on that which is not only our Prize but also our fuel for the race, Jesus Christ[Heb 12:2]! In our race of life, there are two things that will hold us back and we are told to cast them off, one of which is weight! We read in Hebrews 12:1 that we are to LAY ASIDE EVERY WEIGHT [distraction] that hinders us from running the race before us with endurance. “…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us…” This weight/distraction will hold us back and keep us from running to our fullest potential! Weight can be something that is obviously sinful or something that is completely decent IF used rightly! Weight/Distraction can come in many harmful forms BUT ALSO many harmless forms that we allow to consume us such as the books we read, hobbies,  devices??, social networking, desires you want accomplished in your life, etc.. All can be decent and used rightly BUT when you find they are distracting you from spiritually running with endurance and keeping your eyes set on Jesus Christ, they become weights that holds you back and must be laid aside. I like how John Gill commentary describes a spiritual weight as a “great hinderance in the work and service of God, and therefore to be laid aside; not that they are to be entirely rejected, and not cared for and used, but the heart should not be set upon them, or be over anxious about them”.

“I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:  But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection…”
1 Corinthians 9:26-27

Soooo, I have a challenge for you this week!? Take a backpack and  fill it with 10 pounds of any type of item[full water bottles, canned goods, weighted barbell, a couple of bricks] then walk/run a Spring100 mile with that backpack on. Yes, it sounds crazy but it will be extremely insightful[if you take me up on this challenge, send pictures to prove it ? ]! You will see how quickly a little weight will wear you out and hinder you from walking/running your fastest. I often do this with a 15 pound weighted pole laid across my shoulders. This helps me understand just how much a little weight can really weigh me down and burden me physically. This helps me remember how the same is true with me spiritually! Then when I finally lay that physical weight down, I find I am able to run/walk with much more endurance and stamina. As you walk your Spring100 mile with this weighted backpack on, spend a few minutes praying that the Lord would reveal any sin and spiritual weight/distractions in your life that may be weighing you down and hindering you from setting your focus on Him. Then pray that He would give you the grace  and strength to lay the weight/distraction aside so that you may be able to more fully run with endurance! I am praying for each of you during this next week. ?? May we seek to honor the Lord in our every thought and deed as we run the race before us. Have fun with week 9 y’all!?

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”

WEEK 5 MILEAGE FORM

…………………………

“Righteousness shall go before Him; and shall set us in the way of His steps”
Psalm 85:13

How was week 5 of the Spring100 for everyone?? How are you doing keep up with those miles?? We are nearly half way at week 6 and I am super excited about week 7 post which we will be celebrating the half way mark with some fun!!? So be ready. Week 5 of the Spring100 was completely unexpected for me!? I had all my ducks in a row with a week perfectly planned out to a T  and I took off running. Then the unexpected happened and my entire week’s worth of plans were washed, my route was suddenly redirected. Yep, you guessed it… I got the flu!?  It was in that instant that I was reminded of Proverbs 16:9, “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”  We are told in Proverbs 3 to Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge HIM and as we do so we are promised “HE shall direct thy paths.”  Aren’t you thankful the Lord directs our steps as we set out on the race of life and we don’t run on our own navigation? I am!? Isn’t it amazing that  we can leave the path we take up to Him, fully trusting He will point us in the direction we should go and skillfully guide us every step of the way?! Isaiah 58:11 promises “And the LORD shall guide thee continually…” CONTINUALLY. That is a promise! One of my favorite verses[okay so I have a few hundred?] is Psalm 32:8,  “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with Mine eye.” SOoooo, if you are feeling like life is just not going the direction you had intended as you run the race set before you, stop leaning on your own understanding. 😉  Trust in the Lord and fully commit your way to Him. He will ever-so-skillfully guide you on the perfect path[Ps 18:30]!? Okay, let’s conquer this new week of walking/running together across the miles[4 different countries… y’all this is a BIG and energetic group of people!]. Have fun with Spring100 week 6, and keep up the FANTASTIC WORK!???
