Spring100 MILE LOG

…………………………………

…………………………………

“Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.”
Proverbs 4:26-27

We have successfully completed week 8 of the Spring100 by God’s grace and entered into week 9!! We are so close to having that Spring100 finish line in sight.? Keep on going strong y‘all! ?? Tonight I was praying about what verses to share on this post and the Lord literally rolled Proverbs 4:25-27 right in front of me, “Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.” I love the exhortation found in these verses, SET YOUR EYES STEADFASTLY ON THE FINISH LINE/Christ Jesus, PONDER THE PATH OF THY FEET, and DON’T GO OFF COURSE! As we trek through this race of life, these exhortations are priceless if we hope to run with endurance!?‍♀️?‍♂️ We are going to be tempted to take our eyes off the finish line, to remove our gaze from our Prize -Jesus Christ- and put it on worthless pursuits and pleasures! We are going to be tempted with distractions and diversions when it comes to digging into God’s Word which is our roadmap in this life race, and the temptation to go off course and take a “broader-easier path” will come our way. BUT what does God’s Word say? We are commanded to set our eyes on Jesus[Hebrews 12:2], focus fully on His Word[Psalm 1 says it is to be our meditation and delight DAY AND NIGHT] which will illuminate our path[Ps 119:130, Ps 119:105], and stay on the narrow course[Mat 7:13-14]! For those who do this, they are called BLESSED! “BLESSED is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. BUT his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate DAY and NIGHT. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” [Psalm 1]!! This week, I want to encourage you all to memorize Proverbs 4:25-27 and take time to pray Psalm 119:33 & Psalm 17:5 before or during your Spring100 walks/runs, “Order my steps in Thy Word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” “Hold up my goings in Thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.” May the Lord richly encourage you in His Word for week 9 of the Spring100! That is my prayer this week for each of you. ?? ?Happy walking/running y‘all!! ??‍♀️

Spring100 MILE LOG

…………………………………

…………………………………

“I will run the way of thy commandments, when Thou shalt enlarge my heart.”
Psalm 119:32

Well, over halfway through Spring100 is both exciting and unbelievable!! This has been a great challenge so far and I have loved enjoying every mile of it with YOU. ? It is a beautiful reminder that, just as we run run the spring100 challenge with hundreds of fellow participants, we also run the race of life with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ! Let’s strive to daily encourgae eachother unward and upward! The May Spring100 Calendar is a handy way to keep track of those miles so don’t forget to print one off. This week I want to STRONGLY encourage you to choose a verse each week for the remainder of the Spring100 and meditate on that verse during your walks. Recite it, pray it, and live it! ??‍♀️ Psalm 119:32 is the verse of the week for me, “I will run the way of thy commandments, When thou shalt enlarge my heart.” I love how the Psalmist says “I WILL”! Not “maybe I will” or “I’ll try” or “I can’t, it’s just too hard”? BUT “I WILL”. We can run swiftly in His commandments because He “enlarges” our hearts. “God, by His Spirit, enlarges the hearts of His people when He gives them wisdom”[MHC] and we are told in James 1:5 that “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” How exciting is that truth?! I am reminded of Psalm 119:18 where the Psalmist says, “Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law.”  This would be a wonderful prayer for week 8 of the Spring100. May we seek the Lord diligently through His Word and pray that He would give us wisdom [enlarged hearts] to run [not just walk but RUN] swiftly in His commandments!! ?  Praying for you all this next week as you set your sights on the finish line and RUN! ??‍♀️

Spring100 MILE LOG

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us”
Hebrews 12:1

There are so many brothers and sisters in Christ that have gone before me whose lives encourage me in my daily spiritual race! Their testimonies of God’s provision and faithfulness spur me to press forward with endurance. I think of Stephen in Acts 7 or the Apostle Paul or Corrie Ten Boom or well you get the point ?… I guess that would be the “great cloud of witnesses” referred to in Hebrews 12:1!? Some have already made it to the finish line of life and others are still running with their eyes steadfastly fixed on the prize before them! This brings me to what I want to share with you all for today’s Spring100 post. Sheri introduced me to Gita, our oldest Spring100 participant at 98 years old, who has not only already finished her 100 miles for Spring100 but is running with endurance her spiritual race and living a life that inspires so many! Her testimony of God’s faithfulness throughout her entire life is nearly overwhelming! When Sheri shared Gita’s life story with me, I knew you all would be as blessed as I was by it. So, without further ado, I would love to introduce you all to Gita, a fellow Spring100 walker, encourager, inspiration, and sister in Christ! ?

Gita is almost 98 years old. When she was a young woman, Russian soldiers invaded her country of Estonia. After she endured and survived many weeks of constant bombing of Tallinn, Estonia’s capital where she lived, Gita and what was left of her family fled the country the evening before Russia invaded. They sailing away on a hospital ship called the Moero. But the next morning, out in the Baltic Sea, the Moero was torpedoed by Russian planes, and sank in about 6 minutes, taking nearly 4,000 people onboard down with it, including her first husband. They had been married only one year. Gita and her younger brother, Erich, managed to jump from the sinking ship into separate large life preservers. Gita’s was filled with other people, but her brother’s had only one other man in it. Erich had dreamed the night before that the ship would be sunk and he would die!

Gita life preserver floated away from the 3 boats that came to rescue survivors. After floating in the freezing water for 4 hours, they were picked up by a German U-boat (submarine) and taken to what was then called Gdansk, Poland. Her brother never showed up at the displaced person’s camp, and she learned from witnesses on another rescue ship that the “young man in a life ring with only two men” had fallen from the knotted rescue line they threw to him, and he had been sucked into the ship’s propeller. Gita was devastated. He was her final family member, except for her grandmother who was still in Estonia. She never saw her grandmother again, either.

Gita wandered from one country to the next with no home, no family, no nation; but God always sustained her with several miracles, pulling her from certain death time after time. Finally, she ended up behind the American lines and when WW2 ended, she met an officer that would become her husband and bring her to America! She had 6 children, got saved, and was part of a group of 5 people that started my church back in 1970. She loves the Lord with all her heart, and still serves Him, baking cookies and cakes as gifts for many people, old and young alike. AND she gardens with the flowers she loves, and walks 3 miles a day!

Thank you, Sheri, for taking time to send in Gita’s story! What a blessing. ?? We have some fabulous photos below and this week’s photo theme seems to be “Spring100 meetups”!? Y’all, keep up the fabulous job and enjoy week 7 of your Spring100 walking/running! ?????

Spring100 MILE LOG

“If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
Galatians 5:25

Y’all, we are entering week 6!! ?? How is the Spring100 going so far for you?? Many are ahead of schedule and that is great. Some of y ‘all are right on track, way to go! Some may be finding themselves behind and THAT IS COMPLETELY OK! There are still 60 days left in this Spring100 challenge and there is still so much time to get back on track and catch up.? At 60 days, even if you haven’t grabbed a single mile yet, you can do just under 2 miles a day to get back on track! My walking this verses this past week have come from Galatians 5, where it says “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” & “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” I am reminded that“The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”[Gal 5:16, 25] Let’s go forward this week of the Spring100 in the strength of the Lord seeking to walk in the Spirit and praying the Lord would allow that good fruit multiplied in us! “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”[John 15:5]. Spring100 MILE LOG

…………………………………

“For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.”
Micah 4:5

…………………………………

A fellow Spring100er, Hannah G. from VA, brought Micah 4:5 to my attention this weekend and really encouraged my heart!? How perfect is it for the Spring100?! I love how Micah 4:5 reminds us that we follow not after the pattern of the world as they follow after their idols and false gods but we are set-apart and shining lights in a dark world as we walk in the name of the Lord God. In His name alone is there found salvation(Acts 4:12) and in His strength alone(Hab 3:19) will we make it to the finish line of our spiritual race triumphant(2 Corinthians 2:14)! Psalm 20:5 says “… in the name of our God we will set up our banners…”! Will you walk/run the Spring100 and run your spiritual race in the name of the Lord? Will you make His name known and conquer for His glory and by His strength? The Psalmist says in Psalm 34:1, ” I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Let’s move forward this Spring100 giving the Lord ALL THE GLORY for every mile accomplished and let’s walk the Spring100 in the name of the Lord! “That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” (1 Cor 1:31)! Y’all, enjoy week 5!! ???‍♀️?

Over the years I have tried to make a point of not letting the weather (within safety and wisdom?) hinder me from accomplishing my daily walk/run and I remind myself that if it won’t kill me, it will make me stronger! ? Then I conquer in the stretngth of the Lord! Reminds me of our spiritual race, we will face hurdles that seem unsurpassable, trials, and challenges that will seem to give us an excuse to not run with endurance BUT remember, we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength. He provides the grace to run with endurance as we set our eyes steadfastly on Him and seek His strength… one step at a time!??? Keep up the energy and enthusiasm y‘all! You are doing WONDERFULLY!

“For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.”
Psalm 18:29

Spring100 MILE LOG

…………………………………

…………………………………

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.”
Colossians 3:17

I think now is a good time to talk about redeeming the time during your Spring100 walks! ? It is very easy to let that mile pass without much thought, isn’t it?! We are told in 1 Timothy 4:8, “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but GODLINESS is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” A mile is not just a mile but its time that can be taken to advance the gospel, meditate on scripture, pray, and encourage others! For me, my morning mile walk is a great time to pray. It is usually a time of day where I can be guaranteed quiet concentrated time! If I’m not taking that time to pray, I have the audio Bible downloaded on my phone that I will listen to or I will turn on my BBN radio app! A friend shared with me that her sister took the opportunity during a Spring100 walk to pass out tracks to neighborhood children(way to go!!)! Other families have mentioned these walks are a great time of family fellowship and catching up after a busy day. And a group of sisters have been using their Spring100 walks to brush up on their Scripture memorization together. How wonderful is that?!????? So, a mile isn’t just a mile, the time spent enjoying physical exercise can be multifaceted. Redeem the time and make each mile count! Make a purposeful effort to incorporate God’s Word, encourage others(whether it be brothers or sisters or children or friends or whoever the Lord gives you to walk with), and share the gospel when walking your miles this Spring100. All right, are you ready to conquer this new week of walking?? Enjoy walking week 4!??‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♂️

??Week 3 QUESTION!! How do you spend the time during your Spring100 Walks?? Enjoying time catching up with family/friends? Scripture memorization? listening to audio? Enjoying the beautiful views of God’s creation? Just trying to focus on not tripping?? OR…? Comment below and let us know!↓

Spring100 MILE LOG

…………………………………

…………………………………

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:2

Many of y’all have endured cold weather, snowstorms, and rainy days this past week! Great job. ? Keep it up! The unpredictable Spring weather is what helps make the Spring100 a challenge! ?☃️☔️???‍♀️ As we walk our miles each week, it is my hope that it’ll great reminder of our spiritual race we are set on. We are called to run this race set before with endurance in Hebrews 12 but this is only possible as we steadfastly set our eyes on Jesus Christ, finding our strength in Him alone!  One of my favorite verses in Psalm 118 is “The LORD is my STRENGTH and song, and is become my salvation.” Have you set your gaze upon Christ?  Are you looking to Him only for your strength, your joy, and your salvation?  If you are looking to any other for endurance to run this race[whether it be the Spring100 or the race of life] you will fail! It is in Christ alone and by His endless strength and grace that we will joyfully run with endurance the race set before us! He is our Joy[Psalm 43:4], our Strength[Ps 28:7], and He is our Salvation[Is 12:2].  Let’s set our eyes steadfastly on Christ, the author and finisher of our faith and run!! So, who is ready to conquer week 3 of the Spring100? ?

Ready, set, GO! || Spring100 starts NOW!

Ready, set, GO!!!! ?? Today is the official open of the 3rd annual Spring100!! ? You can now officially start logging those miles. 🙂 We have surpassed last year’s Spring100 signer-upper numbers and that is beyond unbelievable! I am so blessed to be a part of such an excited and energetic group. Y’all have done a fabulous job spreading the word! For the new Spring100ers out there, each Monday you will be entering the miles walked for that week in the mile-log provided on the 100MileMonday posts here on the blog but it is also going to be super important for you to keep your own mile log too. ?? That way we can ensure you get all your miles completed and are able to find any missing miles at the end of the Spring100. The Spring100 registration will officially close this next Monday, March 25th. So, if you know of someone who wanted to join, warn then they are about to miss out. Sign up is in previous Spring100 post! May the Lord encourage each one of you physically and spiritually as you set out to make the 100 mile mark. Happy Spring everyone!! Have fun walking/running!! ??

??‍♀️ NOW is a great time to start sending in your Spring100 Starting line photos! For those coming back for a second or third Spring100, let’s show the new members how it’s done by submitting your starting mile photos for the first 100MileMonday Post!
