“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

“Look to the Lord and HIS strength; seek HIS face evermore.”
Psalm 105:4
How did this past week go for you all? This was our first FULL week of walking this Spring100!! Each Spring100 season I choose a theme and with each theme, the Lord brings scripture to mind during my walks that makes this challenge so much more than just walking! This year, my personal theme for the 2022 Spring 100 is “Looking unto Jesus”! As you set out to reach your 100-mile goal this Spring100 and as you run the race of life, your gaze will need to be steadfast and firmly set on Jesus Christ, the author, and FINISHER of our faith. You will need to go in the His strength and for His glory! We are commanded in Psalm 105:4 to “Look to the Lord and HIS strength; seek HIS face evermore.” As we do so, we are promised that we will not be put to shame, “For the Lord God will help Me, therefore shall I not be confounded; therefore have I set My face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.” So… who is ready to conquer week 3 of Spring100?? With our gaze steadfastly set on Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith, who is always faithful, let’s do it. ๐๐ป Ready, set, GO! ๐
Question: When it comes to making it 100+ miles this Spring100, what strategy have you created to make it to your spring100 goals? Do you have a game plan or do you just get in what you can when you can? I would love to hear in the comment box below!

These photos are a blessing.
Looking forward to the walk this week. I enjoy praying while I walk.
Rachel @Spring100
Aw, praise the Lord! So thankful they blessed you. SO many fabulous photos this week! I am excited to see what is shared for week 3!! ๐๐ป๐ฏ
Bethany
Yay!!! It’s so fun seeing the pictures of some of the many people we get to walk with!
Rachel @Spring100
Isn’t it?! Love the picture of you and Hannah under those gorgeous budding trees!! ๐โฅ๏ธ
Krystle Rozelle
Last year I didnโt have much of a walking strategy, but this year I definitely do! First I look at the weather for the week and then I count how many weeks and miles left of Spring100 and I go from there. I live in Upstate NY so looking at the weather is very important! This week has a cold start, but Iโm hoping to get at least 8 miles in this week. I also decided a poncho would be beneficial this year so I can still walk on rainy days.
Rachel @Spring100
OH!!! I thought I was the only one who watched the weather when getting ready for the week’s walks!! GOOD THINKING, Krystle!! ๐๐ป Great idea on the Poncho too. ๐
Anna Linzey
Itโs so fun to see the smiling faces in this โcloud of many witnessesโ all in this challange together cheering each other on ๐
I have a game plan: 30 minutes in the morning to jump start my day and 30 minutes in the evening to walk off all the extra energy not needed that day. I have a sweet little dog, and we both keep each other going in our miles together. I have a personal goal to be able to run a 5K by the time this challange concludes this year. Seeing progress already, and am excited to experience the transformation in my personal ability.
Rachel @Spring100
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your game plan!!! Way to Anna!! Oh, what a great goal. Praying you are able to accomplish the 5K in the strength of the Lord. You got this! ๐ค๐๐ป๐ฏ
Bethany Cooksey
There’s a nice 2-mile trail around our neighborhood, so we try to run there whenever we can! Evenings work best for us, right before sunset so it’s not too hot. ๐
Rachel @Spring100
Ooooh! That trail is just perfect. What a blessing! ๐๐๐ป๐ฏ
Tawnya
Thank you for posting all the great pictures! Itโs an encouragement to me getting to see so many different, smiling faces taking the Spring 100 challenge.
My strategy is to make sure we walk at least 2 miles for 4 days every week. Iโve been needing to get on a regular schedule of walking so this challenge is helping to keep me motivated. Of course my hope is that the Challenge will motivate me to walk even more miles than what is required.
Rachel @Spring100
Isn’t it encouraging??? I love seeing the diverse age group and places that are being walked this Spring100!! โฅ๏ธ๐ฏ
So so thankful that this challenge is helping you get into a good walking routine. Great strategy!! KEEP IT UP!๐
Amanda
Congratulations on winning the giveaway, Tawnya! And how exciting that this is your first year to do Spring100!
So exciting to see some new and familiar faces on here! ๐๐ป๐ฏ
I donโt have much of a strategy when it comes to getting my miles in…I do try to make sure I walk my 1.7 miles a day (my goal is 150 this year) either first thing in the morning or in the afternoon. And then if I fall behind, there is usually a sibling walk that happens either once or twice a week…those really help with getting extra miles in because we tend to walk farther when we are together, and the time flies faster! ๐
Rachel @Spring100
Yay, great 150 goal, Amanda!!! Isn’t it so wonderful to have siblings to keep us accountable and on track with our Sp100 miles?? ๐ I have at least 1 younger sister wanting to grab a walk each day which is really nice!๐ฏ๐๐ป
Tirzah Faith
I live in MI, so weather permitting, I try to walk 5-6x per wk, either with my family or children I nanny for.
Rachel @Spring100
I hope you have lovely weather for week 3 of the Spring100, Tirzah!!๐๐ผโโ๏ธ๐ฏ
Hannah Stiff
Wow! I love these pictures y’all! This makes me so excited, especially when I think that this challenge has literally become worldwide! I try to do my standard 1.1 miles every day, but I think I’ll be doing a 2.5 mi hike with my dogs on Saturdays, probably with a sib. (:
Rachel @Spring100
Isn’t it amazing?! The Lord God works in amazing ways. So excited to see how He has worked through this challenge. Thousands of participants from USA, Mexico, Canada, Africa, Estonia, France…. and the list goes on! Praise God! Oh! Good idea on getting a little extra on the weekends. That will help if you have an off day! ๐๐ผ๐ฏ
Hannah Velier
My โstrategyโ I guess for completing miles is it helps ease some physical discomfort and hoping itโll help my body stay strong for the remainder of my pregnancyโฆ. But Iโm kind of getting them in when I can because I am so tired lately. My husband does help me get out and going too.
Tirzah Faith
That’s so encouraging to hear that you’re walking even in the midst of everything going on and the precious child you’re carrying! You’re such an inspiration, may the Lord bless you as you continue to pour love into all you do!
Rachel @Spring100
Great job, Hannah!! ๐๐ผโฅ๏ธ Get what you can when you can and enjoy the process!! ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
Sarah H
I try to get 1.1 miles every day that I can, although sometimes I need to get more to make up for a missed day.
Right now I’m about 3.7 miles behind after being sick for a week, so I have some catchup to do! I’ll spread those extra miles out through the week.
Rachel @Spring100
So sorry to hear you’ve been sick. Keep up the good work and grab extra miles when you can!! ๐๐ปโฅ๏ธ Praying you get caught up and back on track. You got this, Sarah!!
Elizabeth Stiff
It’s been lovely to walk so far and also see the beautiful changes from Winter to Spring in the landscape ! I am right now doing 2 miles a day and also have been enjoying going on longer walks with friends and family. Sometimes walking with other people helps you get in more miles too I have found ๐ Love all the photos !
Rachel @Spring100
YES! Walking company mikes the miles fly by.๐๐ผ๐๐ป
Mary P.
Love seeing all those joyful faces out enjoying the outdoors and each other! My strategy this year is run 3 miles every day of April, which is a bit steeper than last month, when I ran 2 mi. 26/28 days of February. And I’d like to start walking with friends as well now that the weather has warmed up to a delightful 60ish degrees.
Rachel @Spring100
WOW! 3 miles a day is a GREAT goal. Bravo!! Enjoy the beautiful weather and time spent with friends!!๐๐ผโโ๏ธโฅ๏ธ
Hannah petersen
It is so fun to see everyone’s pictures!
My strategy has been to walk 3 miles a day, but we have been blessed with such beautiful spring weather that we have often been going farther than that๐
Happy walking everyone!
Rachel @Spring100
Great job going above and beyond when you are able, Hannah!!! ๐๐ผ
Natilyn
Great job!!๐๐
Dana Silvey
So much fun seeing all the pictures, some familiar faces and some new ones! My strategy for getting my miles in is to have a set time that I walk every day. After feeding our chickens and rabbits in the morning I take 5 laps around our driveway which gives me about 1.3 miles a day. If I have extra time I may add one or two extra laps. I think having a set time is the key for me!
Rachel @Spring100
I love your Spring100 strategy, Mrs. Silvey! That’s how I am. I have to set a time to do it or else the day flies by and the walk is missed! ๐ ๐
mlchupp1
A Plan?? HA I fly by the “seat of my pants”!! I am a spur of the moment person. But this first week has been an encouragement and challenge for me. We are having cold, damp, severely windy days here in Iowa. So that is the challenge to get out there and walk. I want to have a set time but I also need to take into consideration the weather. Seeing the other people out walking in the winter scenes boosted me on!
Encouraging is my sister who already walks this amount weekly. She has been encouraging me on and with 1 week under my belt I already am feeling much better.
I loved the pictures.
Rachel @Spring100
Bundle up and keep it up!! You got this!! ๐๐ป
Caroline Flournoy
I don’t have much of a strategy.๐ I try to walk 1 mile every evening and whenever I have time otherwise, I’ll walk anywhere from 1 mile to however many I can!๐๐๐
Great pictures everyone!!๐ Keep up the great job!!๐๐๐
Rachel @Spring100
Great job, Caroline! ๐๐ผ๐ฏ๐ฏ

Ruthie S.
Love seeing all the pictures! Great job everyone!๐๐ฅณ
I basically just walk whenever I can for as far as I have time to. I do try to walk a couple miles a day but that hasn’t been happening on a consistent schedule so far๐….
Rachel @Spring100
Great job grabbing those miles, Ruthie!! ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
Keilah
I run/walk when I get a chance to, I don’t have an exact plan. ๐ So far, average 2 1/2 miles each day, 16 miles this week! My brother and I have turned this into a competition, to see who can complete their 100 miles first, which is an extra motivator for me! My goal is to have over 100 miles by the end of spring. ๐ I love seeing all the pictures! ๐
Rachel @Spring100
Love how you two are spurring each other on with a bit of competition!! ๐ฏ๐ So fun!
Lydia
I generally walk a couple days a week or whenever a sibling/friend wants to go walking๐
I loved seeing all the pictures!! Keep it up, y’all!๐
Rachel @Spring100
Aren’t the photos fun?!! ๐๐ผ
Natilyn
Yay!!! So glad to see this come in!!
Super fun pics everyone!! Keep up the good work yโall! So encouraging to see everyone doing it!๐๐คฉ
My goal is to get somewhere between 1.1-11 miles a day! I found a new beautiful way to go that I love, and itโs 3.3! A few of my siblings and I are hoping to finish early.๐๐
Itโs fun to try and get them in with friends and family…seems the best conversations are when youโre either walking or drinking coffee…๐ค๐โฅ๏ธ
Hannah
Great job!๐ Agreed! Best conversations do somtimes come while walking!๐
Rachel @Spring100
“seems the best conversations are when youโre either walking or drinking coffeeโฆ๐ค๐โฅ๏ธ” UM… YES!!!!!!!!! So glad we got to enjoy both together this weekend.๐๐ผ๐ค
Natilyn
Yesssss!!!!!!๐๐โฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธ๐
Pat Allwein
This is my first challenge. My neighbor and I have been walking 1.5 miles twice a week. I run two to three times a week, 2 – 3 miles each time. The rest of my miles are random. I hike a lot and we just returned from a short camping trip to Myrtle Beach where my husband and I walked several miles on the beach every day.
Rachel @Spring100
The Camping trip sounds like such a great time!! Welcome to the challenge, Pat! โฅ๏ธ
John Silvey
I always try to get a walk or run in before dinner after I get home from work, as it ain’t no joke now trying to do it on a full stomach! ๐ฌ
Rachel @Spring100
๐ I don’t recommend running on a full stomach! Has never been successful for me. ๐
Kate Stewart
I definitely donโt have a set plan! I have three kiddos 2 and under and am expecting our fourth, so my goal is to just get out whenever I can and go as far as I can. Sometimes itโs a decent amount, sometimes not ๐
Rachel @Spring100
Wow, wonderful job squeezing in miles with all those little ones. Such an inspiration!! ๐
Emma Flournoy
My ideal plan is to walk three miles in one go every other day, give or take a couple; I find it more worth the trouble of getting ready and everything to take a longer walk when I do go out. ๐ And then I get an off day in between. So that’s my rough plan, but it probably won’t always work out just so!
Rachel @Spring100
Keep it up, Emma!! ๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
Emma Flournoy
Many thanks, Rachel! ๐

Love seeing all the smiles and faces, both new and recognized! The children are growing up so fast!!
I’m trying to polish off 2 miles a day, but a painful injury to my right eye while clearing dead tree branches in my backyard slowed me down a day. Had to go to the VA hospital 4 times in the week for ER and checkups! Thankful that it’s FEET that do the walking–not EYES!! LOL! Also, thankful that my sight is slowly returning! Praise the Lord!!
I’m thankful for the injury slowing me down because I woke up a hibernating eastern diamondback rattler that warned me, then slithered off to quieter territory while I stayed frozen in place and let him go. God only knows what might have happened if I hadn’t been injured and was moving faster!! God is soooooo merciful!!!
Welcome back folks, and welcome to all the newcomers! Enjoy!!!
Elyse
I will be praying for your eye, Shericlaude!
Natilyn
Wow! Thatโs awful. Praying you!!๐
Rachel @Spring100
“God only knows what might have happened if I hadnโt been injured and was moving faster!! God is soooooo merciful!!!” AMEEEEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rachel M.
Soโฆ. Not sure I qualify to answer this question because itโs such a habit at this point ๐ this is also the 4th Spring100 Iโve done. I run every day during the week and walk on Sundayโs. Sometimes itโs inside if itโs raining or too windy/cold and I donโt have the mental ability to force myself outside. So I guess part of my plan is make it a priority and the other part is go more than the bare minimum. Walk 1.5-2 miles every day and that way if you get sick or busy and have to skip a day it doesnโt hurt you too much in the long run. I usually run 4ish miles and on the days I work 2-2.5ish. That is all, sorry for the book of a comment ๐
Rachel @Spring100
LOVE your routine and recommendations, Rachel!!! You have it down to a science! Can’t wait to see you at the “finish line”!!๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
Elyse
I am trying to run about five times a week. Let’s see how that works:) At present, I am training for a 5K. (which I am putting on:)) That is helping me to run more. Thank you so much for putting this on! I am so excited to be running more!!! :)Elyse
Rachel @Spring100
It is so wonderful having you a part of the challenge, Elyse!!๐ฏโฅ๏ธ

What joy to look through the pictures shared to see all the familiar faces and unique locations families have walked this week around the world! Seeing the weekly posts is a highlight for me, and I only wish each one had a caption with it!
Last year I was able to walk 211 miles, so my goal this year is to reach between 250-300 miles! This requires me to walk 3 miles daily, but some days I am able to get 5 miles in to cover for any days I miss. Lord-willing, I will be able to fulfill this goal. I typically walk in the evenings while my children are doing their own activities, and we do a couple of family hikes each week.
My Spring 100 weekend started off rough on Friday, March 18th when I bent over to pick up an ice cube and wrenched my back. After resting all day Saturday, the first day of Spring 100 my family spent helping me walk a measly 1 mile around the yard, and then 2 miles around the neighborhood. Slowly over the first week my back injury got better with exercise, and I’m back up to my usual pace again! Praise the Lord! I’m so grateful it wasn’t anything more serious!
Rachel @Spring100
Aw, praise the Lord! I am so thankful you are back to normal and that back healed up quickly!!!๐๐ผ
Chyanne Lehman
So far I have enjoyed it! I started walking in MI with my siblings then on the 23 I went to WI and I will be here for 3 weeks 1/2. So it has been very cold but still fun and I enjoy doing it with my aunt and when I am alone I love to sing. So I am looking forward to the weeks ahead and hopefully it will be warmer!
Chyanne Lehman
and I loved looking at the pictures of every one. it is fun to see other people that are doing the challenge!
Chyanne Lehman
my plan for doing the challenge is to just do 2 miles a day and so far I have not missed a day but I am sure I will.
Rachel @Spring100
Good for you, Chyanne!!!!!!!!๐๐ป
Micah Cecil
I like doing a least 3 miles a day but i am a little behind.
Rachel @Spring100
3 miles a day is a GREAT goal and will get you finished in a flash!!๐๐ผ
Sarah Weaver
This is my first year, so I have no particular plan. I have been completely swamped with life so I just barely got the 2 miles walked this past week…. it was done in the dark, when it was literally freezing out, and very windy, but I was determined to have at least some miles to log for the week. Hopefully after the middle of April I will have more time to catch up on all the missed miles. I LOVED seeing all the pictures this week and even saw a few faces that I knew!!
Grace
Me and my family try to do at least a mile day. Most days we take a walk right after breakfast, take a walk in the afternoon, and then take another walk in the evening! We love walking at different parks on the weekends! We do an average of 2 and half to three miles everyday! Here in Florida we have to get all our miles in at the beginning of the challenge cuz it gets really hot here by the end of May.
Rachel @Spring100
Love hearing about your family walks!!!!! Way to go!! ๐๐ผโฅ๏ธ
Louise Crandall
Me and my family usually walk about two miles a day because we have a nice place to walk that is two miles! I donโt really have a strategy.
Martha Joy
Fabulous 100MileMonday post, Rachel!! Thank you so much! For my walking, I’ve mostly been walking with family members in the evening. No huge strategy here, except that “going the extra mile” when you can, REALLY helps later on!! Alot of days we’ll just walk one or maybe two miles in a day, but when we grab 3-4 miles on the weekend, this really helps to get ahead!
Sheri George
Our family was falling behind because we were so busy preparing for, and hosting our first Bible Scriptorium and Fellowship – it was SUCH a blessing. And now…. we are catching up on the Spring 100 doing “double time” many days!
