“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”
Micah 6:8
Well, congratulations to each one of you! ππ» We have officially made it past the halfway mark for this Spring100 and I’m beginning to see that finish line ahead!! ππΌββοΈππ»ββοΈ How was has the past week of walking/running gone for you?? Keep your eyes set on the prize. π₯ We are so very close! This week, as we set out to grab our week 9 Spring100 miles and serve the Lord in every area of life, let’s take Micah 6:8 with us! If you haven’t memorized this verse from God’s Word, I urge you to do so. Do justly, love mercy, walk humbly… WALK HUMBLY with thy God! The command to walk humbly always takes my mind to James 4:6 where we are told “But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” and then a few verses later James says, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.” I don’t know about you, but I desire that “more grace” that the Lord God gives to the humble. As I walk my miles this week, I am praying that I would be “clothed in humility” and that I would walk humbly with the Lord my God. “Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5. May we seek to Do Justly, Love Mercy, and Walk Humbly for week 9 of the 2021 Spring100… HAPPY WALKING Y’ALL! ππΌββοΈπ―

βWherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.β

Greetings everyone! I am not doing a daily walk, (although I’m trying to improve on consistency), so I do longer stints about 3-4 times a week. (: I would say to those who feel behind in their miles that they should remember no one is judging or comparing! This is so fun to walk together, although we are many states, countries, or continents apart, so there’s no pressure to measure up to what other people accomplish! Just do what you can, and enjoy the Spring 100 and the opportunity to enjoy God’s creation!
Happy trails, Hannah
Rachel @Spring100
“no one is judging or comparing” YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is group was not created for competition but rather encouragement, enjoyment, and edification. We are all in this together!! LOVE that great reminder, Hannah! ππ
Grace Silvey
Hello everybody! Hope everyone had a nice walking week for week #8(though it looks like some got to walk in SNOW!!!!).
I got a tad behind in my miles last week as we had some busy days but I had some extra from previous weeks that covered that! I usually walk/run 2.6 every day(so I can get 200 miles by the end!!!!) but on some days I will do more if I missed some miles during the week. I think the biggest I have walked in one day is 6.6 miles…but I spread it out to walking three different times! π
A verse that encouraged me last night in Galations 6 is: “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Often we can get tired and grow weary but let us not lose heart and keeping going strong for Christ!!
Keep up the great walking everybody!!!!
Rachel @Spring100
That verse from Galatians has been a huge encouragement to me as of late, Grace!! Thank you for encouraging us by sharing it. KEEP UP the beautiful work in the Lord!! ππΌβ₯οΈ

This is such a wonderful Mother’s Day edition of the Mile Monday posts!! Loved all the pictures! <3
I try to stay consistent and walk every day! I enjoy that better than doing big chunks of walking serval times a week. For those who are struggling… don't give up!!!! It can be done! I know we are all busy and it's easy to think, "I'll catch up tomorrow… or next week", but take the opportunities you have TODAY to walk. If there is a day you are going to busy and know you probably won't have time to walk, wake up 20 minutes earlier and get a walk in. You will be amazed at how much you can walk in 20 minutes!! If you have a little break in your day, go grab some miles in the fresh air… whether it's 10 minutes or 30 minutes, it will make a difference! Or if you are just getting distracted and your days keep slipping by without getting your walk in, decide on a time of day that works best for you and put that in your schedule as your time to GO WALK! Accountability and having a walking partner are great ways to stay on track, too. But whatever happens, don't give up! Find out what works best for you and go grab those miles!!
I got a little behind on the reading schedule this week, but last night I read Galatians 5, and I always love these verses… "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law." – Galatians 5:22-23
Rachel @Spring100
Weren’t there so many beautiful Mother’s Day Spring100 photos and words?? πβΊοΈ LOVE IT! “You will be amazed at how much you can walk in 20 minutes” It is so true. That’s been how I have been doing it this past week. BUSY for me but if I can take just 20 minutes 2 times a day, I end up with nearly 3 miles done! Very thankful for your encouragement and the reminder that every little bit makes a difference! ππΌ THANK YOU, Sarah!!ππΌββοΈ

How I get my miles in changes as the weeks progress. In the beginning I walk/run about two miles everyday and by May Iβm walking/running 3/4miles several times a week depending on how busy my week is.
For those who need a little catch up: try walking in the morning or evening when it is cooler. Iβve found that I start falling behind at this point of spring if I try walking mid-day because of the warming temperatures. Itβs easier for me to get in catch up miles during the cooler parts of the day. π
Rachel @Spring100
Love the early morning or evening suggestion!!! Not only is it cooler but itβs usually less busy and you have more energy too. ππΌβ₯οΈ Thank you, Hannah!!
Sarah Warkentin
I usually do 2 or 3 miles a few times a week!
Rachel @Spring100
Great job!!!! ππΌππΌππΌ

I would say that for those who may be a little behind (like I am) could consider going on a hike with their family or friends or just asking a sibling to walk 2 or three miles with you once or twice during the week! I need to work harder on being more consistent with grabbing all of my miles for the week! Anyway whatever works for me, may not work for oyu, but just throwing out a suggestion for those who may need it! God speed.
Rachel @Spring100
Great suggestion!!! Iβve noticed time flies by so fast when I walk with a family member or friend! Before I know it Iβve walked double the mile I intended to walk just because weβve had such a lovely time talkingπ§‘π.

Congrats to those who got their 100 miles in, and press on to those who are working on getting their miles in!
I try to walk every day because then I can count it as P.E. I try to do two miles a day, though I don’t make myself do it on the weekends. And if I did my math right, I reached 100 miles last week. For me, it’s best just to walk every day. But that’s just me…π
Rachel @Spring100
CONGRATULATIONS on reaching 100 miles, Lilly!!! π―π
Rachel M.
I run about 3.8 miles every day, including warm up and cool down. So I am WAY ahead! π€£
My advice for those who are behind is to make it a priority and habit every day and go more than exactly 1.1 miles so that you have some wiggle room. If you are a morning person, get up early and walk in the sunrise. If you are an evening person, walk in the evening after all the other work is done. If you have littles, involve them and take them with you if you can. I babysit regularly and the girls LOVE going on a walk and usually it is a highlight of their day. If it is a habit to do it every day, then you won’t be as tempted to skip because you know you will get behind or you know you won’t get your exercise in. And also, when you go, make it worthwhile. Go 1.5 miles. Go 2 miles. Any little bit of extra will help you when there is a day that you literally cannot go walk/run. And whatever you do, DON’T GIVE UP! ππππΌββοΈππΈπΌπΉ

I usually run or walk 2-3 miles a day. One tip I have if you feel like you are falling behind is to listen to a really interesting audio drama ,podcast ,or some music on your phone or iPod ! It really motivates you and gives a fun twist to exercising ! It is really nice to hear everyone’s suggestions and I hope everyone is enjoying week 9 so far !
Rachel @Spring100
Great suggestion, Elizabeth!! I will do that often with the Audio Bible. Such a great way to redeem the time and help miles to go a little faster on those days you need to catch up!!β€οΈ
Amanda
It was so wonderful seeing all the lovely Mother’s Day photos and messages! Our mothers truly are a blessing from the Lord! <3 I walk a little bit every day. I've found that having that consistent schedule of doing a little each day works better for me. To those who may be behind – keep going! YOU CAN DO IT! ππ» One thing that has helped me whenever I get behind is to have someone to walk with. Not only does it help me to walk faster, but the accountability is great, too!
I'm a little behind in the Scripture reading, so I haven't finished Galatians yet. But one verse that has encouraged me is in chapter 1 verse 10: "For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ." Such a great reminder that we are to be completely committed to following Christ, and not to be afraid of what other people might say or think of us, or try to tell us to do. We are to be living for and pleasing to CHRIST, and not be concerned with what people say or think. Because if Christ is pleased with us, then nothing else matters. π
Rachel @Spring100
I love that reminder you shared from Galatians, Amanda!! Such fabulous encouragement! Reminds me of a favorite verse, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.” Col 3:17 π
Caroline Flournoy
Great job everyone and amazing pictures as always!!πππ
At the start I was just walking several miles at a time whenever I got the chance which was pretty much every day but then a few weeks ago I started getting busier so I started walking at least 1 mile in the evening so even if I didn’t get to walk 2 or 3 miles during the day I could still get at least 1 mile in the evening….πI should have done that from the start because it’s such a beautiful time to walk and it’s so nice to just relax after a long day….right after dinner is cleaned up and we’ve had our evening family devotions I will go and I usually have just enough time to get in 1 mile and maybe 1 1/2 miles before the sun goes down completely but it’s so peaceful to walk with the sunset in front of me and the cooler air and just soak in God’s gorgeous creation and refresh my mind after a busy day. πΊπΏπΌI have never regretted it!ππ
For anyone who is behind I would recommend walking at least a couple miles in the evening or the morning. And when you do walk, try to get a couple miles in at once…or maybe even 3 or 4! Make it count! I’ve found that I like to walk several at once to make it count more! We have a road that makes a big loop around the area out house in in and it’s 5 miles every time I walk it so I like to try to walk it at least once a week and sometimes I will walk it twice in a day so I can really get a lot in miles at once!π It’s worth it!π I do it in the afternoon before dinner and usually take a sibling with me and it only takes us 2 hours to walk it once.ππ Just do it!!π You can do it!! Keep going!!π€ ππ We’re all cheering you on!!πππ Happy walking for week 9 y’all!ππ
