Week 3 of this 13-week challenge has been accomplished! π― This Spring100 is filled to the brim with enthusiastic walkers/runners! Each photo and comment received has MADE MY DAY. Thank you! ππ» As I meditate on our Theme Word ENDURANCE for 2025, I was reminded last week that endurance is cultivated by being pushed beyond our current limits and persevering through an arduous, sometimes agonizing, experience of discomfort. Romans 5:3 tells us we can GLORY in this suffering, knowing it will produce endurance, character, and the end product HOPE. And hope does not put us to shame! As we enter week 4, I pray that whatever each of you may face this week, you will be given the strength to glory in it, knowing it will produce in you enduring hope! “We should not expect an easy path in the Christian life, but we should expect the grace to endure every hardship.” . Have fun with week 4 of the 2025 Spring100!!ππΌββοΈ
Spring100 Weekly Meditation
We Rejoice
Romans 5:1-5 || Week 3
“Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”
Romans 5:1-5
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: The tribulations of the saints are many and various, through the hatred of the world, the temptations of Satan, their own corruptions; and are the will of their heavenly Father; what Christ has foretold, and they expect; and here particularly design such as are for Christβs sake, which being supported under, and carried through, they glory in: not that these are desirable in themselves, and to the flesh; but they glory in them as they are for Christβs sake, and in a good cause; as they are trials of grace, and of use for the exercise of it: and as they are in the exercise of grace, amidst these tribulations, and are comforted under them, and are helped to have regard to the heavenly glory. The ground of which glorying is, that these afflictions are the means of promoting patience, experience, and hope:
knowing this, that tribulation worketh patience: patience is a grace, of which God is the author; it is one of the fruits of the Spirit; the word of God is the means of its being first implanted; and afflictions are the means of promoting it, when they are sanctified; otherwise they produce impatience, murmurings, and repinings; there is great need of patience under them; and, by divine grace, they are the matter and occasion of exercising, and so of increasing it.
And patience experience: As tribulations tend to exercise and increase patience, so patience being exercised and increased, enlarges the saintsβ stock and fund of experience; of the love and grace of God communicated to them at such seasons; of his faithfulness in fulfilling his promises; of his power in supporting them; and of their own frailty and weakness; and so are taught humility, thankfulness, and resignation to the will of God:
and experience, hope: hope is a gift of Godβs grace, and is implanted in regeneration, but abounds, increases, and becomes more strong and lively by experience of the love, grace, mercy, power, and faithfulness of God.
And hope maketh not ashamed: As a vain hope does, things not answering to expectation, it deceives, and is lost; but the grace of hope is of such a nature, as that it never fails deceives, or disappoints: it neither makes ashamed, nor have persons that have any reason to be ashamed of it; neither of the grace itself, which is a good one; nor of the ground and foundation of it, the person and righteousness of Christ; nor of the object of it, eternal glory- John Gillβs Exposition of the Bible

Texas weather has been an adventure for week 3! I’ve been bundling up, dodging puddles, and grabbing miles in between thunder storms this past week. Looking forward to drying sunny days but thankful for the much-needed rain.π§π― I hope week 4 is a blessing in special ways for each of you!! ENJOY your walking/running and keep up the fabulous work. ππΌββοΈ
Β “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?” Matthew 6:25-27
