“O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.”
Psalm 43:3
CONGRATULATIONS to each and every one of you!! We’ve made it through week 6 of Spring100. SO many of you are overcoming huge obstacles (broken toes, pregnancy fatigue, and busy life🙈) to get your miles in and cross the finish line. I praise the Lord for you and am so encouraged by your perseverance! KEEP IT UP. 👏🏼💯🎉
Aren’t you glad that the Lord GOD leads us as we run the race of life? I think one of my favorite reminders, as I walk my Spring100 miles, is how utterly important hiding the Word of God in my heart is. I cannot even really begin to stress the importance of this! I love “night walks” when it’s dark out and the sky is filled to the brim with stars and a bright moon revealing the path before me but have you tried to walk in the darkest of nights without the light? If you are like me, you continually grope in front of you, always unsure and always fearing what may cause you to stumble and break an ankle🙊😉. Psalm 119 says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” The Word of God illuminates the path before us!! Just like I shouldn’t try to run through a rugged, thorn-infested mountain trail in the darkest of nights without a headlamp, I should try to run this race set before me or navigate through this “crooked and perverse generation”(Phil 2:15) without the Word of God continually illuminating my path! I once read “The Bible is our road map for living, dying, and living again”. We are strictly warned in Proverbs 14:12 that “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” and then told in Psalm 119:9 exactly how we can keep our way pure as it says, “How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word.” Remember Psalm 1 as it says, “BLESSED is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly… But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”? Blessed is the man. ☺️ As we enter this next week, let’s take these truths from God’s Word with us and Hid His Word in our Heart. It is the light that will illuminate our path… His Holy inerrant Word is our roadmap to life! And how is this for a promise, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” Perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. Praise The Lord! 🙌🏻 May His Word be our day and night meditation. Happy Walking for week 7 y’all!🙋🏼♀️

Yep, I did the weighted challenge also! Using a weighted 20lb exercise bar I walked a mile then very eagerly threw it off and enjoyed another mile free of the cumbersome weight. How light I felt without that bar on my back! And what a fabulous reminder of the command to throw off every weight and the sin which hinders us from running with endurance. 🙌🏻To each of you who submitted photos this week, THANK YOU! If your photo didn’t make it in this week’s post, keep on snapping and sending in photos from your Spring100 walks. I can’t wait to feature YOU! Y’all enjoy week 7 of the Spring100.🙋🏼♀️💯
“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:1-2

Oh my. Challenges I have overcome since we started. Still struggling with a very bad case is shingles which affected my hip and leg. A two week quarantine from Covid exposure. We had snow and rain and wind and freezing temperatures. And that’s about it. Onward and upward (Lord willing) from here.
Rachel @Spring100
I am so inspired and encouraged to see the trials the Lord has faithfully brought you through and your perseverance + enthusiasm to get you miles in this Spring100!! Keep it up. May the Lord bless you with many beautiful Spring100 miles!!🤗♥️💯
Bethany
I had a dear friend who struggled with shingles, so I know from her experience that it can be very miserable. May God bless you as you go forward in His strength and grow stronger in your walk with Him as He helps you overcome!! I’m praying for you today!
Hannah Stiff
Week 7! Yay! I am sure this is a common struggle in our group, but I would have to say lack of motivation can really deter me from walking my miles on a day to day basis! My mind plays through the excuses of “I just don’t feel like it”, or ” now that I have free time, I would much rather do this, or that”. But 10 times out of 10 when I do push myself out of the house to our field, the view, the fresh air, and God’s presence wipes away all boredom, or reluctance. I can’t say I ever regret a walk once it’s accomplished!
Happy trails,
Hannah
Rachel @Spring100
Your comment gave me the biggest smile! Praise the Lord. SO so thankful you have never regretted choosing to push past the excuses and get outside for those Sp100 miles.😍🙌🏻🙋🏼♀️ Day made!
Elizabeth Stiff
Coming into week 7 I am so excited ! Mostly because I am half way now and really enjoying each day I walk or jog . One challenge I face for doing Spring 100 would be the weather. Here in PEI the weather can change from day to day .Some days it could be rainy and windy and other days warm and sunny . I was encouraged by a mom recently, who runs quite a bit, who said to run and walk despite bad weather and make it a fun challenge. So I have been out in all kinds of weather 🙂 This week it is supposed to rain all week here in PEI lol !
Rachel @Spring100
Way to go hitting the half way mark, Abigail!!!!!!🎉 So wonderful. It’s all “down hill” from here!!😃 I love the inspiration you gleamed from that mom. It is such a great reminder as we will face rainy days and sunny weather both in our physical and spiritual walk.🤗 May we embrace every day as a challenge and blessing from the Lord!! Grab an umbrella and enjoy the rain!😉☔️
Ruth
Wow! What a great post ! Good job on week 6 everyone. I guess one of the biggest hurdles I’ve had to overcome with spring 100 in the last six weeks is making time during trips and a busy schedule to walk but thankfully I’ve been able to overcome those hurdles and keep on track!👍🏻👏🏻
I have to confess I’m a little behind on my reading schedule but I’m catching up in leaps and bounds 🙌🏻🎉 and so excited to jump into 2 Corinthians!!! My favorite passage from 1 Corinthians has been chapter 1 verses 26-31
Especially this verse:
“But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption—“ 1 Cor 1:30
Hope everyone has a great week 7 of the spring 100!!! (Good job on the weight challenge btw👏🏻😁🎉)
Rachel @Spring100
Oh!!!!!!! Yes, I so agree. I have been very tempted on the busy days to say “I’ll catch up tomorrow”. But you know the old saying, “tomorrow never comes”.😉 Good job keeping on track and grabbing miles, Ruth!! It is always helpful for me to remember 1.1 miles only takes 18 minutes if I walk fast. You got this!!👏🏼
GREAT JOB catching up on the reading plan toooooo!!! I love the verse you pulled out from 1 Corinthians. He is our Wisdom, Righteousness, Sanctification, and Redemption. AMEN! 😍
Keep up the wonderful work!!!
Bethany
Thank you for sharing this verse, Ruth! We know that our salvation can come only from God, but it’s easy to start thinking that we have to make our own sanctification happen. But just as our salvation only comes from Jesus, so our sanctification comes only from Jesus too, as we seek His work in our lives!! I hope you’re having a wonderful week! 🙂
Grace Silvey
Hope everyone had a great walking week for week 5!!!!!! My siblings and I went on a walk with some friends from church yesterday and we had a lot of fun talking! (Oh, Rachel…I have been using your random questions you posted on your other blog last week for questions while we walk! That has been fun! :))
I wanted to share some encouraging verses from 2 Corinthians 4: “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” Through any circumstance you may be in right now, if you’re feeling crushed, in despair, or whatever…don’t! Because God is still there and has a purpose for whatever you are going through. So hold fast to that promise and put your implicit trust in God knowing that He is in PERFECT control.
Keep up the good work everybody!!
Hannah Stiff
Thanks so much for that encouragement Grace! I needed that today. One of my favourite verses for 2 Corinthians is in chapter 3:16 16 “Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.” This is talking about the veil that lies over unbelievers’ hearts when they read the Law. They can not grasp what the Bible says, because the Spirit is not inside of them, making God’s Word clear! Paul links this to Moses, who wore a veil over his face because the Israelites couldn’t bear the glory of God that shone from Him. But in Christ, our hearts now see and understand who God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are, and we now walk in His light!
Rachel @Spring100
Oh!!! ♥️ Those verses struck me in a really unique way when I read them over the weekend. THANK YOU, Hannah for the encouragement you shared. So thankful that we have been given the Spirit and because of Jesus Christ, we walk in light(“In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.”💓)! I was reminded of John 14:26 when I read your comment:
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
Grace Silvey
Awww, I am SO glad that it encouraged you, Hannah! <3 It is a great truth we all need to remember. Yes, I think it is so sad to see unbelievers whose hearts are veiled to where they continue to go against God not realizing what Jesus did for them, loving them to the cross and laying down His life for them, and yet they reject Him still. Let us be very diligent to be spreading the gospel and obeying our Lord and Savior and giving HIM our ALL!!
Hannah Stiff
You’re welcome Grace! Spreading His message is our life goal, isn’t it? It’s easy at times to make that a secondary issue. Praying for opportunities to do so in this day and age!
Grace Silvey
Yes, so true! Jesus told Pilate in John 18 that He has come into the world to bear witness to the truth, and what better example is there for us than Jesus? As He gives us the great commission in Matthew 28 vs.19: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” And as the time of the end draws nearer, let us be ever vigilant in spreading the gospel!
Hannah Stiff
Amen!
Rachel @Spring100
👏🏼😍 I am sooooo happy those random questions are being used and enjoyed during your walks, Grace!!!! This just brightened my day to hear.😁💓
Mmm. Amen and thank you for that encouragement! Your words reminded me of a verse I have had on my mind a lot lately:
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.- Is 43:2
I think what has encouraged me in that verse from Isaiah and the verses you shared from 2 Cor 4 is it doesn’t say “IF” you pass through the waters or fire BUT WHEN. We are told there will be hardship and trying of our faith here on earth(John 16:33, 1 Peter 1:6-9) but we are given the promise that the Lord God will be with us every step of the way and we will not be crushed. THANK YOU again, Grace! 🤗💓 You sparked some encouraging truth in my heart and mind with your comment today!!
Abigail Stiff
Coming up on week 7 I ask myself is it worth it? I I always end up saying whole heartedly YES! Now that the weather is getting nice and warm its a lot more pleasant walking.🌞 I do have several challenges. One would have to be reading. I love reading and when I get going into a good book its hard to stop.📖 But sometimes I have to put the book down and enjoy God’s wonderfully planned and designed world.🌍💕Thankyou Rachel for being consistent and helpful.👍Great seeing people enjoying their walking!
Rachel @Spring100
I am so so thankful you are whole heartedly saying YES, Abigail! Your perseverance will pay off and I am so thankful to have you a part of this challenge.🤗♥️ Keep on pressing forward toward the goal!! 😍💯
Mary Miecz.
I haven’t had to overcome any super large challenges these past few weeks, but it’s more of a struggle to overcome the little challenges 😀 Pressing onward to hit 70+ miles this week!
Rachel @Spring100
Sometimes those little challenges can threaten to derail the entire day and any chances of getting a mile in. Good job pressing onward and WAY TO GO!!!!!!😍 Your 100 mile finish line is in sight!!!!!! Keep on walking/running.👏🏼💯
Lori
We’ve had some physical challenges. One of my daughters sprained her ankle at the beginning, and I’m fighting inflammation in my hip. But we’re almost caught up and enjoying our time outside.
Rachel @Spring100
Oh wow, I am sorry to hear about the challenges you have faced🙈 but praise the Lord to hear y’all are almost caught up! I am praying for you all as you press toward the finish line. YOU GOT THIS! 🙌🏻💛
Hannah Bartin
I think my biggest challenges have been being so busy, and now as the weather warms up walking gets harder and more exhausting. My motivation though has been the goal of being strong enough to run again so I can go on runs with my fiancé after we get married.
Rachel @Spring100
That is such a great goal, Hannah!!!!🙌🏻👏🏼💯
Sarah Silvey
Thanks for the encouragement you shared, Rachel!! “Just like I shouldn’t try to run through a rugged, thorn-infested mountain trail in the darkest of nights without a headlamp, I shouldn’t try to run this race set before me or navigate through this “crooked and perverse generation”(Phil 2:15) without the Word of God continually illuminating my path!” SO GOOD!!!
I really haven’t had a whole lot of challenges, except being in the middle of a project and not wanting to stop when I needed to walk. *smiles* But as some of the others have already said, I have never regretted it when I made that intentional choice to go and walk!
Rachel @Spring100
I thankful that you found that encouraging, Sarah!! 🤗♥️ And super happy to hear you never regret putting that project down long enough to get a Sp100 walk in!! 😃 KEEP IT UP!
John Silvey
I originally thought that keeping on track with my miles was not going to be hard, but it hasn’t been as easy as I thought! I was down for a few days with a bad stomach bug, then I messed my neck up, and right after that cleared up I messed my knee up, which is pretty much better now, thankfully!
Rachel @Spring100
I think keeping track of how many miles walked is a challenge for so many of us! So glad you’ve made it past those uncomfortable hurdles 🙈 and pressing are pressing forward toward the goal!! 💯👍🏻 Keep it up!
Caroline Flournoy
Well, I haven’t really had many challenges except for being SOO busy and not having much spare time to walk and when I do get spare time, I don’t always walk and instead will read, write a letter or email, or sew. Things that I could set aside but I just don’t because I want to get them done but when I force myself to go out and walk it’s always nice to get out in God’s beautiful creation and the fresh air!!🙂 😊😀🌺🤗😁 The first week I really strained my leg pretty badly when jumping around on hay bales and couldn’t walk for several days, but that’s pretty much the only thing besides being busy and getting distracted. it’s SO easy to just get distracted and the time flies by when you’re writing letters, emailing, sewing, reading, ect. and when you look up way more time than you think has passed!🙃
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15-16
Great pictures everyone and keep up the great work!!!!🏃🙂good job on the weight challenge too!!😀😁🏋️ Happy walking for week #7!!🏃😁
Rachel @Spring100
I am so glad you overcame that strained leg!🙏🏼 Sometimes those strains can linger. ♥️ KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK and thank you for being a constant encouragement, Caroline!!
Erika
One challenge here is the freezing temperatures combined with cold winds – and sometimes snow or frigid rain. We are looking forward to more spring-like temperatures here. 🙂 Yet pressing on through challenges produces endurance.
Rachel @Spring100
” Yet pressing on through challenges produces endurance.” AMEN!!!!!🙌🏻
Rachel M.
I have to say that I am crazy about fitness and so it’s not super hard for me to go run. I mean, it’s just one of my ‘jobs’ for the day and I can’t relax until it is done. Also, it is a really good stress reliever for me. I’m graduating nursing school in 3 weeks and to say it is stressful is a very huge understatement. Running generally just frees my mind for 30 minutes and helps relax the physical tenseness. Usually I can go run and come back and have a fresh start at whatever I am doing. Also the spring sunshine and warmth (especially this week because last week was cool/cloudy/snowy/rainy) just make me want to go outside.
Great job everyone and KEEP IT UP!!!!!!!!!!!! You can do this!!!!🎉😁🏃🏼♀️
Rachel @Spring100
” it is a really good stress reliever for me” ME TOO, Rachel!!!!!! Congratulations on nearing your graduation. I know you have worked long and hard for that!! Praising the Lord to see you finish that huge goal!!👏🏼💕
Rachel M.
Thank you so much! It’s crazy to be almost done but very exciting!
Bethany
Congratulations, Rachel!! I just graduated from online college last year, so I have just a bit of an idea of how big this is!! God bless you as you pursue His best for you!!
shericlaude
Some obstacles this year: I put my back out for several days and couldn’t move without going into painful muscle spasms. I caught a head cold about the same time. Coughing and sneezing kept my back from healing. Painful and miserable!! But the Lord sent healing, and I have gotten caught up with my miles, praise the Lord!
Another obstacle this year is the loss of my walking partner, Gita. She now walks short distances on her own, having to break her walk into smaller chunks because of her age. But she is still going, and I still see her almost every day. 🙂 But, it’s harder (but not impossible) to persevere alone.
The Bible reading has been a blessing, as it always is. I’m trying to keep to the schedule, but I have a tendency to need the flow of reading each epistle in one sitting, as if I were reading letters. (Which they are.) I can lose meaning when I break the letters up into a chapter a day. But I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how my Lord Jesus is called, “the God of all comfort” in 2 Cor. 1:3. He has comforted me in many special ways throughout my life, even while I was a lost sheep. Lost sheep are never goats!! Since He found me in 1986 and brought me into the fold, He has been my comfort and my stay. Upon Him I rest!
God seals us as His own and gives us the earnest (down payment) of the Holy Spirit in our hearts. (Verse 22 in my own words.) A down payment means the item is counted as a possession of the payer. Jesus paid it all, but since we are still in mortal bodies, we content ourselves with the down payment of the dear Holy Spirit. We need Him anyway throughout our pilgrimage here, so He is a Wonderful, Absolutely Needed Payment!!!
I’m enjoying everyone’s gorgeous pics and smiles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
