Mile Log
“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
I am so excited that we have made our way, by God’s grace, to week 6 of Spring100! To each of you participating in this challenge, WAY TO GO!๐๐ป๐ฏ For those who have finished their 100 miles and are making their way to larger goals, CONGRATULATIONS!! ๐ If you are right on track with your daily miles, great job!! Your perseverance and consistency will pay off.๐๐ผ IF YOU ARE BEHIND, don’t quit!! You have plenty of time to catch up. YOU CAN DO IT! ๐๐ผ I love the above verses from 1 Corinthians 9 that were in our weekly Spring100 Scripture reading and so perfect for this challenge. The exhortation “RUN TO WIN” is encouraging and energizing, isn’t it? As always, I am reminded that as we run this spiritual race set before we are told to throw off the weight and sin which so easily entangles us(Hebrews 12). Weight and sin will prevent us from running with endurance. Just like I wouldn’t set out to win a Marathon with a pack full of heavy cumbersome bricks on my back, I shouldn’t run the race of life with the burden of weight and sin on my back. We are told to throw off these weights and sins and run to win! So, with the beautiful reminder from 1 Corinthians 9, this week I have a fun challenge for you all! ๐๐๐ป Drum roll please…. It’s time for the The Weighted Walk CHALLENGE!!
The CHALLENGE: This week make it your goal to walk a mile with a little(or a lot- your choice) extra weight just to get the feel of what that extra spiritual weight feels like and what a relief it is to finally take it off. Whether it be hand weights๐๐ผโโ๏ธ, extra-large canned veggies๐, a weighted back-pack, sibling riding piggyback๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ, or maybe just your baby on your front-pack! Get creative and SNAP A PICTURE of how you did the weight challenge and send it in for next weekโs post letting us know how it went for you!
Please note: this is only a suggested challenge and is not required. Please do not attempt this challenge if you are dealing with any health issues or do not feel physically qualified to attempt this challenge. Join at your own discretion! Thank you. Y’all, enjoy week 6 of the Spring100!!๐๐ผโโ๏ธ

I must say if I could walk anywhere in the world I would chose Israel. I walked there two years ago and it was amazing to walk where Jesus walked with his disciples. Beautiful country.
Rachel @Spring100
I am so glad you had that opportunity!! And so happy to see all your fabulous photos.๐โฅ๏ธ
Hannah Stiff
Oh, Israel would be my choice for a walk for sure! To stroll along the the banks of the river Jordan or the Via Dolorosa would be so awe-inspiring to me. And if I could walk there with one person, it would be my Pappy. He is 80 years old today and he still takes hour long walks through town. We are several provinces apart now, so I would treasure the opportunity to spend time with him, and talk of our Savior’s life while in the country of His birth and death!
Keep walking everybody!
Hannah

I’d probably pick Norway or Switzerland or some such European place, because the mountains and fjords and valleys and all that scenery are SO gorgeous. Though I’m not sure that I’d actually want to walk all up and down all the mountains. ;P I’d want to see them though!
Rachel @Spring100
Switzerland would be a beautiful location for Spring100 walks!! ๐๐งก๐ hehe, I think those mountains would be so beautiful to climb all the way up and down.๐
Martha Joy
Hurray for yet another fabulous 100MileMonday post with encouragement (thank you, Rachel!!๐๐ปโฅ๏ธ) + so many photos from Spring100ers!! Howdy to some very familiar faces (HI Silvey ladies + Cat and Jake + IsaacโฅKarmen + Anna + Cailyn + Rachel+Emmi!!!)…well, howdy to EVERYone!๐ Wow, isn’t this just amazing, to be walking these miles with SO many other people from all over the world?!!!๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
Hmmm, a most-desired destination to walk for me…I think it’d have to agree with Ruthie S., yet for me it’s AL. Home-sweet-home! We’re so blessed to be surrounded by such beauty, peaceful country roads, and so much of God’s creation to enjoy.โฅ๏ธ
Well, I’ve had to do a little “catch up” today on my Spring100 Plan readings, but one portion that stood out to me is Romans 12. I love the message it gives, that every person has a very special position in the body of Christ, and each position is so important! In talking about all the different gifts that are given, it says, “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all…but one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.” (vs. 7+11) It’s convicting and encouraging to remember that God has given each of us specific strengths + gifts to be used for His glory, and all of these gifts add up together to make a beautiful, more fully functioning body in Christ. Wow! So the gifts that He has given you and me are special and important, which HE can use! This reminds me of Ephesians 4:15-16…”But, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head – Christ – from whom the whole body, joined and knot together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”โฅ๏ธ
GREAT job, everyone!! Keep going for Week 6, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, our Savior!๐๐๐ผ
Sarah Silvey
HI to you, too, Martha Joy!!!!! *waves* Yes, it is soooo fun for everyone to be walking *together* all over the world!!!

County roads during warm spring/summer evenings make for a perfect walk! โบ๏ธ So thankful for the beauty the Lord puts in our own back yard or down a near by country road! ๐บ๐
1 Corinthians 12 was really my favorite chapter this week!! I was so happy to see that you mentioned it standing out to you.๐ Verses 20-22 always make me smile:
“But now indeed there are many members, yet one body. And the eye cannot say to the hand, โI have no need of youโ; nor again the head to the feet, โI have no need of you.โ No, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary.”
“those members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary” Praise the Lord for that!!!!!!โฅ๏ธ Thank you for your encouraging comment, Martha Joy!! ๐

Oh!! I really had fun doing the weight challenge last year!! Though I think my little brother is a bit heavier than last year so I probably won’t end up piggybacking him again!๐๐ I’ll have to find something else.๐๐๐๐๏ธ๐

I donโt think I have a particular place I want to walk… I just love walking anywhere if my favorite people are along! ๐๐
This week in the Scripture reading plan I was really encouraged and convicted by 1 Corinthians 13- that great chapter on love!! โAnd though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.โ
What a stunning truth!! That chapter really made me think about love and examine my own heart for hate, pride, and selfishness that is sooo opposite of the love described in 1 Corinthians 13!
Rachel @Spring100
Sarah!!!๐๐ผโโ๏ธ Loved seeing your comment fly in.๐ Yes, I agree! Any walk is the perfect location when you have favorite people with you.โบ๏ธ๐งก
Oh! 1 Corinthians 13 is a chapter that continually convicts and encourages me. The portion that really calls me higher is:
“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things. ๐๐ผ Love is patient! Thank you for the beautiful reminder this evening, Sarah!!! Such an encouragement. โฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธโฅ๏ธ

Hope everyone has a great walking week!!!
Rachel @Spring100
