Hebrews 12:2-4
Tisha Stille
I haven’t seen many strange things on my walks, but I am constantly surrounded by beautiful and fascinating wildlife. I constantly see muskrats, painted turtles, frogs, killdeers, robins, deer, raccoons, snapping turtles, rabbits, geese, cranes, and more busying themselves about their daily tasks. Being outdoors amidst God’s creation thrills my heart!
Rachel
Isn’t it amazing to see God’s creation in something as simple as a walk?! I love it when I see cardinals and robins. Reminds me of that verse in Matthew 6, “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?” Continue pressing forward, Tisha! It’s such a joy to have you part of this challenge! ?
Lori Cook
We have seen several dead snakes. Now my son and nephew think it’s really fun to say “copperhead.“
Rachel
Ooooh! Watch out for the live snakes. ?? Our friends and fellow Spring100ers have had quite a few copperheads in their yard this past week! Walk safe! ??♀️?
” But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal” Matthew 6:20

One of the most interesting sights so far occurred one evening when we were walking at sunset. We made a lap going west and when we turned back to the east, the sun had reflected a gorgeous pink onto the clouds and over the pink there was a rainbow. It looked beautiful and quite unusual!
Rachel
I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE sunset walks! They always make my heart happy and remind me of Psalm 19 where it says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”. ? So glad y’all had that beautiful sight, Maggie! Keep up the great work on Spring100! ?
Ruth
Great job on week 5 everyone!?? Didn’t see anything too unusual while walking this week (unless a coffee shop counts?)but I did enjoy some beautiful scenery in south Texas on a trip!Loved seeing everyone’s pictures this week??keep up the good work!????♀️??
Rachel
Sometimes you see some pretty interesting things at coffee shops! ??? You are doing such a fabulous job, Ruth! Keep up the Spring100 energy! ??
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matt 6:33
Heidi Metzger
The most usual thing I’ve seen was a squished squirrel on the road the other day. :O Lovely pictures this week! And Anna, I’m jealous of your beach walk! Looks beautiful! <3
Annie
Oh dear! I’m sorry about the squirrel! ? It’s not every day one is able to walk on the beach, so I was very thankful to get a short walk there! ? God’s creation is beautiful. I think it’s amazing that there are people everywhere walking from different places, yet the views are amazing—mountains, beaches, green blooms, etc.
Rachel
?? Oooh, yeah! Sometimes our walks hold some rather unfriendly roadkill sights.? Keep up the great work, Heidi!!
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.-Ps 19:7
Rachel M.
I haven’t seen much exciting stuff that I can think of. The majority of my miles are inside when I work out, so that makes a difference too. We went on a lovely and very muddy walk yesterday that was really quite fun. We have a metropark not far from our house, and that’s where we went. There is also a dam over a big creek in/near the park, so we walked down to watch the water. It was coming out rather rapidly, and was actually strangely calming to watch as it crashed and roared. So anyways. That’s my interesting sight. :):):)
Rachel
The Metropark walk sounds really fun, Rachel! Isn’t it funny how water falls or rivers/creeks have a strangely calming effect?! Keep up the great work, Rachel! ? Looking forward to seeing you at the Spring100 finish line!! ?
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.-Ps 19:14
Annie
My family soaked up Week 5 with Spring break together. These were some fun photos! So thankful for that time and the challenge of Spring 100 with the excuse to walk together for many miles! ???? Even our dog was tired, lol! ? Looking forward to week 6!!!
Rachel
I am so thankful you all had that time together!! What a tremendous blessing. ?? You are doing great, Annie! Keep it up! ???
For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.-Gal 2:19
Annie
Me too, praise God! <3 I agree! 🙂 Thanks so much! I'm having a lot of fun with this. 🙂 Also, I'm not sure if you saw I submitted two mile log forms….? This week I accidentally said I did an extra mile–I actually did 12, not 13 miles this week! Hope that was not confusing! 😛 Thanks again for doing this!
Hannah G
I haven’t seen anything very strange, unless the neighbors guineas that keep wandering into our yard counts. I have really enjoyed seeing all the song birds, especially the mockingbirds that seem to have a nest nearby. Loved everyone’s pictures this week. Keep up the great work, everyone!
Rachel
Guineas are funny birds!! We used to have one it he was quite a site. ? Love having your photo part of this week’s post, Hannah!! Thank you for adding a smile to week 5’s post! ???? Keep up the beautiful work!!
O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.-Ps 95:1
shericlaude
Gita and I (and my niece, Christina, who joins us once in awhile) haven’t seen anything particularly strange or amazing so far during the Spring100 walk. But we do get some laughs out of a mockingbird that sounds like honking cars and squealing brakes. He imitates whatever he hears, then flies off if he notices that we are “on to him” and laughing at him.
Rachel
Oh! When we lived a little farther south we had mockingbirds too. They made our walking path quite a noisy spot! Loved hearing and watching them! ?? Great job Gita and Sheri!! Always encouraging and inspirational!!
O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker.-Ps 95:6
Lydia Jael
Mockingbird are one of God most incredible creations??…. we had one that used to imitate a squirrel! It was so neat to watch it!???
Keep up the great work Gita and Sheri!❤️ Love hearing your comments?
Katina Bartin
My dog, Ira, goes with me and one time I saw his head and ears become erect. Fearful it had to do with the pungent skunk, I looked where he was staring. Fifteen to twenty feet off the road I glimpsed two wild turkeys scrabbling through the timber. I was amazed at how high they can fly! They look so cumbersome!
Rachel
Oh! I am glad it wasn’t a skunk. I literally ran right into one a couple years back during a Spring100 walk.?? I am not sure who was more scared… me or the skunk! ? It really is amazing to see turkeys take off for a flight. It goes to show they have an amazing Creator! ? Keep up the wonderful work, Katina!
Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.-Ps 96:2
Lydia Jael
Everyone is looking great for week 5!!???? “Strange or interesting things”….? Well, I’d say the strangest thing I saw was a lambs tail…? right in the middle of my walking trail!??????. Our lambs tails were docked a few weeks ago and they just started falling off… I couldn’t help but break out in a laugh at the sight of it!? Anyway… not the most exciting thing that one might see but it definitely was the most “interesting” thing I’ve seen yet on my Spring100 walks.???
Thank you Rachel for another lovely post!❤️
Rachel
Yeah, those lamb’s tails are something else. ?? Keep up the great walking, Lydia!!
The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.-Ps 97:1
Bethany Griggs
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9
Keep pressing on everybody!!! ? If you’re a little behind, let that be motivation, not discouragement. ? I’m enjoying every post and the variety of pictures coming in!
Rachel
So thankful you are enjoying the posts, Bethany! Love your Spring100 enthusiasm and continual encouragement!! Keep it up! ?❤️
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.-1Thes 5:11
MJL
Thank you, Bethany! I Love how you put it… “motivation, not discouragement.” This perspective brings such encouragement to the challenge!
