“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”
Psalm 1:1-2

Spring100 MILE LOG
…………………………………
…………………………………
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.”
Colossians 3:17
I think now is a good time to talk about redeeming the time during your Spring100 walks! ? It is very easy to let that mile pass without much thought, isn’t it?! We are told in 1 Timothy 4:8, “For bodily exercise profiteth little: but GODLINESS is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.” A mile is not just a mile but its time that can be taken to advance the gospel, meditate on scripture, pray, and encourage others! For me, my morning mile walk is a great time to pray. It is usually a time of day where I can be guaranteed quiet concentrated time! If I’m not taking that time to pray, I have the audio Bible downloaded on my phone that I will listen to or I will turn on my BBN radio app! A friend shared with me that her sister took the opportunity during a Spring100 walk to pass out tracks to neighborhood children(way to go!!)! Other families have mentioned these walks are a great time of family fellowship and catching up after a busy day. And a group of sisters have been using their Spring100 walks to brush up on their Scripture memorization together. How wonderful is that?!????? So, a mile isn’t just a mile, the time spent enjoying physical exercise can be multifaceted. Redeem the time and make each mile count! Make a purposeful effort to incorporate God’s Word, encourage others(whether it be brothers or sisters or children or friends or whoever the Lord gives you to walk with), and share the gospel when walking your miles this Spring100. All right, are you ready to conquer this new week of walking?? Enjoy walking week 4!??♀️?♀️?♂️

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us”
Hebrews 12
Elizabeth White
Yay for a great 3rd week! Love seeing everyone’s great pictures! If I’m running by myself I normally listen to podcasts and/or the Bible… If I’m with friends or family, we love talking; it’s always fantastic! 🙂
Everybody keep up the great momentum for week 4!
Rachel
Good job, Elizabeth! 🙂 Those walks with other where lots of talking happens is great encouragement.???
“I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me, and set me in a large place.”Ps 118:5
Yvonne
We had an interesting week. Some in the family wanted to quit and give up. My husband said that we are doing this as a family then took this special member on a walk and talk to encourage them to keep going. I also tripped on our walk yesterday and skinned my knee and hand. I got up with my family’s encouragement and kept going. I had to get 4 miles in no matter what!
Isn’t that the Christian Life? Don’t we want to quit and give up sometimes? Don’t we trip and fall, yet have you pick ourselves up, come to our Heavenly Father, and go on? I see so many spiritual examples of the Christian walk in this Spring ?. Even the faces of people in this physical race encourage me as I walk in this spiritual race. Let’s keep on keeping on for Christ. Let’s be faithful. Let’s not quit, even when we fall.! Christ has given us the Victory, so go forth in faith. We have a cloud of witnesses. They are watching our lives we need to live and talk Christ so that they see a difference and want to know why. Then, we will have opportunity to share the awesome story of how Christ loved us and gave Himself for us.
Rachel
Those interesting Spring100 weeks will come! Once the excitement of a new challenge wears off a bit, we get to feel the part in Hebrews 12 that tells us to run with perseverance/endurance! Yes, amen. That is the Christian life and what I love so much about the Spring100! The comparison we can make with our physical 100 mile challenge and the spiritual race we are set on is really a fun blessing! We so often are ready to “throw in the towel” yet the Lord gives us the strength to continue on! We fall down, yet He picks us back up and sets our feet on solid ground making the path straight before us. Continue to persevere in the strength of the Lord Yvonne and family! You are a great encouragement to me. ?
“The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.” Psalm 145:14 >> “I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, even of thine only.” Ps 71:16
Lydia Jael
Wow! So true. Thank you for sharing.??❤️ I’m so glad that your family is going to continue with the challenge!?
Michelle
Pray, sing, thank the Lord for the beautiful outdoors, breathe deep, check on the livestock. Sometimes all at the same time…although I usually don’t breathe deep checking livestock…that walking activity usually makes me hold my breath;). Beautiful pictures- I’ll enjoy this post all week!!! Thank you, Rachel for your hard work and families for sending photos!
(Also, Hello Mrs. E! It’s been a year since we last visited! Come by when you’re up this way…always love our visits!)
Rachel
Glad you enjoyed this week’s post Mom! ?? Hehe, I don’t blame you for not breathing during the livestock check! ??

???? Keep up the great work!!!
Heidi Metzger
I love seeing all the pictures! Great work everyone! When I walk I usually listen to music or talk to whoever I’m with (usually my little sister), or sometimes its both. Looking forward to week 4! Thanks for doing all the hard work to make this challenge possible, Rachel! (and probably all your family to!) It has been fun to go walking, and to see everyone else’s pictures! Week 4 here we go!
Rachel
Enjoy week 4!! Thank you so much for the encouragement, Heidi! It is a lot of work but so worth it. Thankful for many helping hands with family and the Lord who has really blessed this year’s challenge! ????
“Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.” Phil 4:4
Joy Rojas
Most days I walk/run with family and friends so a lot of the time we talk but when I’m by myself I usually take advantage of the quiet and memorize scripture or pray. 🙂 I’ve been enjoying it so much!
Rachel
Great way to redeem the walking/running time, Joy! It’s such an honor to have you part of the challenge. ??
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Phil 4:13
Daniel & Kathryn
When walking together (definitely our favorite! ?) talking usually fills the time and makes it pass all too quickly! Whether planning the week, discussing everyday life and parenthood, sharing insights from the Word or a recent message and everything in between, this is what we love best! When walking separately, it is a good time to meditate on the Word, explore new places with the babies and talk to them about our findings, or listen to hymns or health podcasts.
Thank you again Leake family! We are so grateful for the Spring100!
Rachel
I can see how married Spring100ers would be able to really enjoy those walks! So glad you two take that time to enjoy eachother’s company. ? Keep up the great work! ?
“Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” Phil 4:20
Hannah G
Most of my walking is done alone, so I often use the quiet time for prayer, especially for the neighbors whose houses I walk past. I also enjoy listening to music and the sounds of nature, and watching for each new sign of spring.
Rachel
Aw, Hannah! Praying for the neighbors you walk past is such a beautiful way to use the Spring100.??? Praise the Lord! Keep up the great work!! You are inspirational! ??♀️
“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” Phil 4:23
Hannah B
I ended week 3 a little behind, but hopefully this week I’ll be able to make up the missed miles.
If we aren’t running my brother and I will, sing, or just enjoy each other’s company. If I’m running I take the time to pray and refocus after a long day. A friend of ours is beginning to train for a 5k, but doesn’t have a good place to run so she may be joining us this week!
I love all this pictures from this week! Great Job y’all!!
Rachel
Praying you can get caught up and back on track, Hannah!! ? Great way to spend the time alone and so fabulous you may have a running partner. ???? Enjoy week 4!!
“But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.”Phil 3:7
Sharon
Many of my miles are hikes with beautiful scenery to enjoy and be grateful. I appreciate the reminder to make good use of miles walked alone.
Rachel
You have definitely been blessed with beautiful scenery, Sharon! So glad you get to enjoy it on your walks. ???
” The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”PS 19:1
Esther Shell
Many of my miles are within view of our house while the littles take their afternoon nap. I enjoy the quiet time just to hear myself think sometimes. 😉 My thoughts are often on how I can be a better mom and wife, along with praying and thanking God for the blessings around me. Just putting me outdoors sends praises toward Heaven, as I’m always in awe of God’s creation!
Rachel
The quiet time is a wonderful time to think over the ministry the Lord has placed you in as a wife and mother. ?? Great way to spend your Spring100 walks, Esther! So happy to have you with us this year! ?
“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” Ps 119:14
Grace L
Days are so busy of late that my walk has been my rest and refresh time. I have enjoyed soaking in the peace and quiet they bring! Keep up the great work, everyone! I think this weeks picture post is one of th best yet! ???? “In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.” Psalm 62:7-8
Rachel
Wasn’t it the best yet?! So many great photos this week. ?
“The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.” PS 19:8
Aurélie
It’s fun seeing all the pictures that are being sent in this year. I’m glad to be ‘following’ along with the Spring Mile 100! You are all doing well, keep it up! 🙂

You’re very welcome!
Wishing you lots of sunshine on your walks this week ☀️
Greetings from across the thousands of miles,
Aurélie ??
Rachel M.
Hey everyone! I kinda feel like the oddball here on this question because most of my miles are done during my workouts. I have gotten a few walks with others in though, and I plan to continue that. When I’m walking I usually listen to music and/or talk to whoever is walking with me (if someone is:).
Rachel
Not an odd ball at all! About 2/3rds of my walks are by myself so I can relate! So glad you joined the fun, Rachel! Looking forward to seeing you cross the finish line. ??♀️

Gita and I are both closer to the ends of our lives than in the middle, like many of you sweet Spring100s, so we are normally free to walk 3 miles per day. Gita, at 97 years old, usually ends up walking even farther than that, but we don’t count it because she walks to the PO, and also to a neighbor’s house down the street, but at a different time of the day. We count only our sustained walking. We walk in a small-town neighborhood setting in Florida, where it is heating up into the high 80s already! Talking makes the walk easier, as we walk at a fairly fast rate, and edifying each other in the faith and glorifying God makes our walk time a highlight of our days.
God bless you all, and God bless you, Rachel, for hosting the walk that brings us all together so wonderfully!
Rachel
I am so thankful you and Gita have that walking time together to encourage eachother in the Lord! Just wish I could join you for a few miles now. ?? Thank you for the sweet encouragement. It is such an extreme joy to have both of you part of the Challenge this year!! Keep up the beautiful work in the Lord!
“And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” Col 3:14
Sarah H
I’m a little behind this week, as we were on vacation and I didn’t get in any countable walking during our 2 travel days. Oh well, hoping to catch up this week!
Usually my time on walks are spent saying, “Wow, nice pinecone! Oh, yes, that’s a car. Boys, stay on the sidewalk!!!” ? Not much peace and quiet or time to listen to any podcasts or audio Bible. Maybe someday!
Rachel
Time invested in others and enjoying a walk with them is priceless!! Keep up the beautiful work Sarah. ?❤️
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.-1 Cor 15:58
Annie
Spring 100 Week 4 already? Wow, time flies! ? I’ve been really blessed participating in this challenge. Usually when I am running, I either listen to a podcast, memorize verses, or when I’m running/walking outdoors, I enjoy just soaking in His wonderful creation. ❤️ Looking forward to next week! I loved seeing all the photos!
Anna aka Annie
Rachel
Soaking up God’s glorious creation is a great way to spend that mile!! ☺️? Enjoy week 4 Annie!! ??
“So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.”Psalms 79:13
LydiaJael
Yet another wonderful post!? And so many new faces!???? Love the energy and stamina.❤️ What I really like seeing are all you Spring100 families out doing your walks TOGETHER!??♀️ Keep it up y’all!????
I’ll listen to BBN radio and I’ve also found that walking is also a great time to PRAY.?? This morning I couldn’t do anything but focus on running from a horsefly that was picking on me.?? I ran about 1/2 mile before it gave up the chase.???♀️? Thanks you Rachel!❤️
Praying that all the Spring100 participants have a wonderful “week four”!????????
Rachel
??? those horseflies have been so bad this week!!! ? Great job persevering under pesty situations! ???
“Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience.” James 5:10 ??
Bethany Griggs
Wow! What a great combination of pictures. So many fun, creative ideas and ways of posing. ? Keep covering the miles and snapping the pictures. ? It’s also nice to hear how people are “redeeming the time” as they walk. Visiting with fellow walkers, praying, listening to Scripture or music, the possibilities are endless! ☺
Rachel
Aren’t there so many fun photos this week!! Thankful for each one. ?? Yes, so true!! Possibilities are truly endless. If I remember correctly, you even studied for a test on one of your Spring100 walks! ???
“Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.”
James 5:11
HGG
Hannah G from VA here.? I’m loving everyone’s enthusiasm, photos, and comments–from the new participants to the oldtimers. It’s been fun walking “with” you all so far.
More often than not, I’m catching my miles on the treadmill while spending time in my granny’s room, so we typically watch the news or game shows while I’m walking. ? If I’m outside walking by myself around our property, I may listen to part of a sermon or podcast…while keeping an eye out for the neighbors’ dog who likes to guard his area and chase me back up the hill.?
Rachel
Well, the time spent with your grandma is priceless!!! Way to go. ??? As for the neighbor’s dog. ? We have the same problem!!! I have to carry a large walking stick for protection if I notice he’s out! ???
So love having you here, Hannah!!! Keep up the great work. ?
“We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you” Col 1:3
Esther Deladurantey
I like to spend my walks doing all the above mentioned things! Because it varies who I’m with or if I’m alone or not. Nice to mix it up from day to day? Looking forward to week 4!
Rachel
I heartily agree! Mixing it up is a great way to thoroughly enjoy every single Spring100 mile. ?? Keep up the wonderful work, Esther!!
“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him” Col 2:6

I’m a little late logging my Week 3 miles – hopefully better late than never! *smile*
My sister and I usually get in lots of conversation time together, covering a whole range of topics! We also love enjoying the sunsets as we walk and sometimes singing, too!
Rachel
Yes, ALWAYS better late than never! ?? Sister conversation is a favorite for me during a spring evening walk. So glad y’all get that time together! Enjoy week 5!!
O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.-Ps 90:14
Alyssa
I’m quite late to this convo haha! I love listening to music and enjoying God’s creation and sometimes just thinking and praying and praising :). But I mostly listen to music ????
Rachel
So happy to see your comment. 🙂 Fabulous ways to redeem the walk, Alyssa! ??
Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.-Ps 90:1
Virginie
Mmm a favorite place to walk ? There are so many beautiful places to discover ! But I think it would be lovely to walk in Italy ??? it looks absolutely stunning from what I’ve seen already , and I’d love to discover it for myself one day ? Keep up the good work each and every one of you who participates ??
MJL
Usually, I use my Spring 100 walks it to listen to the Bible, Christian radio (www.bbnradio.org?) or plan my schedule for the day or week ahead! There is so much work you can get done on a Spring 100 walk! ???
