WEEK 9 MILEAGE FORM
…………………………
“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”
Col 3:1-4
How was week 9 of the SPRING100 for y’all? You are doing a wonderful job and from the pictures, this week’s major theme was “family vacation”! ? Week 9 was a great week for me! I will admit, it has been a BIG challenge[even with as much as I love walking] to get all my hoped for miles in. ? Lots happening here in East Texas with my family and work but the Lord shows His mercies every single day and gives me ample opportunity to sneak a half mile in here and there throughout the day until I’ve met my daily goals!! From what I am hearing from many of you via email, you all are getting excited and nervous and even more excited ? as we round the corner for the Spring100 finish line! So many of you are ahead of schedule and that is fantastic. ?? Some of you are just going to very very barely make it to that 100 mile mark unless a mad dash is made these next few weeks BUT we have 30 entire days left in this challenge and each day offers fantastic opportunity to advance, get ahead, or get caught up. Keep on keeping on y’all!?? I was doing some fun calculations today during my walk regarding Spring100 and how many miles could get done in the next 30 days. Just a little something to encourage and push you forward:
We have 30 days left:
- If you are 30 miles away from reaching the 100 mile goal: You are right on track. Only 1 mile a day necessary for the remainder of the Spring100 challenge
- If you are 50 miles away from reaching the 100 mile goal: you will only need to walk 1.7 miles a day to finish the Spring100 challenge 100 miles strong! At a moderately average and comfortable pace, that is only 35 minutes of walking a day!
- If you find your 70 miles away from reaching the 100 mile goal: you would only have to walk 2.4 miles a day to make up for lost miles and finish with your full 100 miles on June 20th!! 2.4 miles can easily be walked in 50 minutes or divided between a morning and evening walk for 25 minutes per walk!
- For those who have found life has kept them from even beginning the 100 miles of this Spring100 challenge: you would only have to walk 3.5 miles a day for the next 30 days to make that 100 mile mark and win the challenge! 3.5 miles at a moderately fast pace could be walked in an hour or you could slowly jog it in about 35 minutes! OR you could do 2 miles in the morning and then enjoy an evening 1.5 mile stroll with your husband/children/siblings. ?
So, if you are feeling like you just can’t catch up, take heart and keep on going! One mile at a time. ?  We are so close to the finish line that I can ALMOST see it ahead. I cannot wait to see you all finish strong! May the Lord richly bless you for week 10 and may you steadfastly set your gaze on Him and make your way toward the finish line! ?
?? Week 10 QUESTION! Are you walking/running a little bit everyday, or taking longer walks just a few times per week? AND Do you have any walking tips for fellow Spring100ers who are slightly behind? Comment below and don’t forget to encourage other Spring100 participants!

To answer this weekâs question: I usually try to walk every weekday (Saturdays and Sundays are too full for me to get miles in!), and I usually walk around 2 miles a day. ??ââď¸I have enjoyed the exercise very much â even when I have to push through the daily nausea and pregnancy exhaustion! So if yâall think you canât do it â you can! Adele and I have managed to keep up our miles even through morning sickness, so Iâm sure yâall can conquer too!!! â¤ď¸â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
Rachel
Fantastic encouragement, Elisha!! Thank you. ? The 2 miles a day with weekends off is a fantastic walking schedule. You are doing a wonderful job!! Can’t wait to see you at the finish line! ????
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil 4:13
Elisha
Thatâs the very verse I was looking for to add, Rachel! Thanks for quoting it! ??
Leah
Congratulations on your pregnancy, Elisha! That is so exciting!!
And what an inspiration to hear you are getting in your miles even with the challenges of your morning sickness. Praying for a quick relief from the nausea for you!
Elisha
Thank you, Leah! We are so excited!!! ??And I appreciate your encouragement. ?
I loved your idea of a âtreatâ of kombucha or something at the end of the walk â Iâve done that some, and it is refreshing and something to look forward to! ??
Hannah Bartin
Wow Elisha!! Congrats! That’s truly amazing that your able to walk and push through that.
Praying you have the strength to make it to the finish line!

lydiajael
Congratulations Elisha!!â¤ď¸
Leah
What fun to see the photo of you two, Hannah and Bethany, at the Creation Museum! I am sad that our paths didn’t cross so we could have met in person! What day did you visit the museum?
Wonderful photos this week!! Love seeing you all getting in your miles even with travel and busy schedules! Also, really enjoy seeing the cute babies and pups that join y’all. So sweet.
I really enjoy walking everyday, but for instance two weeks ago I walked longer walks a few days out of the week.
I think sometimes getting all ready for a walk can be time consuming. I have a dvd that has you walk in place for 1 to 3 miles. Popping that in the TV is sometimes a quicker option so you don’t want to worry about the weather and other variables. (Though being outdoors is part of the fun!)
Also, I have experienced that getting motivated is the hardest part about exercising, so maybe if you walk in the morning, put out your walking shoes and gear the night before to make it easier when you get up. And after your done with your miles for the day, maybe pull out a healthy drink like kombucha or fresh lemon water to encourage you to keep on track!
I look forward to hearing if you all have any tips! Thankfully I am on track as long as I am consistent in June. It’s going to be a busy month. đ
Have a great week friends!!
Rachel
Love your comment, Leah. âşď¸? The walking videos are great suggestions! I had a couple sisters who did them last Spring100 during a very rainy week!! And I think a few are available on YouTube from what my mom tells me. ??
The healthy/refreshing treat is another wonderful suggestion!! âşď¸ Lydia and Grace would completely agree about the Kombucha but I may have to resort to chocolate. ???
Have a blessed week of walking/running, Leah!!! ?
âAnd whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.â

We were at the Creation Museum yesterday (Sunday) and then we went to the Ark Encounter today. That would have been so neat if we had been able to actually meet.
Leah
How fun!! Was this your first time going to the Creation Museum and Ark?
Hannah G
Yes, it was our first visit to both places and we loved it!
Leah
Yay! They are both so informative and beautifully refreshing aren’t they?!
The Ark was incredible and the Creation Museum is packed with so much helpful insight to equip us. Also I thought the bug exhibit was amazing!
Did you have a favorite exhibit?
Hannah Bartin
Oh Kombucha , that’s a wonderful idea… My brother Jesse makes amazing lemon water slushes sometimes after hot workouts they are really refreshing as well.
Leah
Mmm! Lemon water slushes sound great!
Sharon
I walk 3 miles on my days off and then fill in with 1-2 miles at other times. Running long miles on days off was my routine when I was younger. Alas, I’m walking these days and extremely grateful to be moving. But a ‘scheduled’ walk is not daily.
Rachel
I like your walking schedule, Sharon! âşď¸? How many miles would ârunning long milesâ be for you when you were younger?? Iâve yet to get to a place where I can run those lengthy distances. Maybe one day! ?? Keep on going!! Youâve been a blessing to have part of the Spring100.
âThou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.â Psalms⏠â73:24⏠â
Hannah G
For my walking schedule, I try to walk every day, but sometimes I don’t get it done. So I usually end up doing several miles on Saturday or Sunday evening, when I’m not as busy.
For those who are behind, just keep pressing forward. It may seem like you won’t be able to finish, but if you put forth the effort, you should be able to complete the Spring 100. I was behind most of last year, but I was able to finish on time.
Rachel
Great job grabbing extra miles on the weekend when necessary, Hannah! ?⨠And Love your encouragement. Itâs true, just keep on pressing forward!! In Godâs strength, It can be done. âşď¸?
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.-Phil 3:14
Hannah
I typically have been trying to walk anywhere between 1 and 1.5 miles 6 days a week most weeks, then if I am behind I’ll catch up a bit on Sundays. Some weeks it has been lopsided with walking close to 2 miles some days and snippets on the rest. Thankfully, I think I am on schedule, even after my lowest mileage week so far. Loved your encouragements as we all round the bend toward the finish line.
One tip to get in some extra mileage would be to set a goal you think you can handle for the day, then when you reach it, keep going a little bit more! You might just get your second wind. Why walk an even 1.5 miles when you can go for 1.6 or 1.7? đ
Rachel
Hannah!!!! Thatâs wonderful advice!!! ? Those extra .2 miles really do add up in the end and you will be so glad you pushed yourself a little harder!! âşď¸
âSing aloud unto God our STRENGTH…â Psalms⏠â81:1⏠â
Esther Deladurantey
I like to walk a little every day, and I also try to do a little extra each day since weekends can be hard to fit it in. My younger sister got behind by quite a few miles when I was out of town last month so to help her catch up we had been doubling our miles each day until she caught back up. Now that she’s caught up, we are trying to at least get one mile a day as scheduled and picking up any extras just in case our schedule gets too busy to fit it in again?
It’s been so fun seeing everyones pictures and has definitely kept me motivated to stay on track?
Rachel
Great job helping your sister catch up, Esther!! ? That is wonderful!
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.-1Thes 5:11
Rachel A.
I try to walk throughout the week, but sometimes play catch up during busy weeks instead. đ Loved seeing all the photos, as usual. Keep it up, everyone! đ
Rachel
Great job, Rachel!! ??
Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.-Psalms⏠â84:5⏠â
Sarah S
I try to run at least 3-4 days a week. “Try” is the key word here ! I love to run at sunrise or sunset .The desert is cool ,and sometimes I get to see critters as I’m going along. Great pics everyone ! So green =). We’d appreciate ya’ll’s prayers for rain in AZ we haven’t had but a sprinkling since last monsoon. Things are dry ,and fire season is in full swing. Dust and smoke ,yet still the desert is blooming on faith ! A pretty time of year to be out walking
Rachel
The desert runs sound absolutely beautiful. ?? Iâm praying the Lord brings rain to AZ, Sarah!! ?
Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain,
whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.-Ps 68:8
Esther Beauford
Hello everyone!!! Whew, I guess I didnât anticipate how busy spring can really get. Haha ??
So I try to walk every day, but it doesnât always happen. I try to walk double my goal for the day. If my goal is 1.1 mi, I walk that distance and walk it back home, so itâs double.
Hint, donât get sidetracked while walking, if you need to get caught up. ? That is why I have a daisy chain on my head. ? oops! Ha ?
Come on everyone, we can do it!! ?â ???
Rachel
Isn’t it funny when you begin you think “1.1 miles, piece of cake!” but then you realize just how busy the Spring months can be half way through.???
I love your hint! But I will be honest, that daisy chain was so pretty I don’t blame you for getting distracted! ??
For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.- Is 50:7
Hannah Bartin
The past two weeks have been so hard to get all my miles in and I’ve found I’m been walking 3-4 mile walks and then a few shorter ones.
Intentionally setting aside time to walk helps me. If I started my day.thinking oh I need to walk before the end of the day I didn’t really get to it. If I set a time (for me it’s around 7.30 pm) or a part of the day ( like after supper) I generally actually get to my walk.
Keep going y’all, we’re so close.
Prayers!?
Rachel
Keep up the great work, Hannah! I love seeing you persevere even in the busy-ness. FANTASTIC tip on setting a time and going for it! I have to do the same thing for my morning walk or else I just lot other tasks consume that time. ?
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.-Gal 6:9
Ruth Leake
Thanks for the post Rachel!
I usually do all my walking at once in the day,but I try to remind myself to walk a little extra whenever I have spare time.
This helps in case something unexpected happens and I am unable to walk when I planned to.
Rachel
Love your extra spare moment walks! Definitely a good thing to have those emergency miles that you can pull from. Keep up the great work, Ruth!! ???
I will run the way of thy commandments, when thou shalt enlarge my heart.-Ps 119:32
Kandace
I usually have three free afternoons I can count on during the week to get my miles in so I do 2.5 to 3 miles running and walking each time. It takes me anywhere from 30-50 minutes. If I do not get those days, and fall behind, I try to get as many small walks during the day (usually .50 mile) and add 3 miles on Sunday until I catch back up.
Making sure to get a small walk in at least once every day really helps me when behind. Also listening to the bible on audio, sermons or music keeps my mind busy and helps the miles go quicker.
Love getting to see all the pictures – Thanks for the encouragement Rachel!!
Rachel
Love your recommendation for listening to the audio Bible or sermons! It’s a great way to really use the walk to it’s fullest. You’ll end your Spring100 with a Healthy mind/spirit and healthy body!????
Thank you for the fun photos you send and the encouragement Kandace! ?
“his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” Ps 1:2
Sarah M.
I always enjoy these Monday posts! Thank you for the tremendous effort you put into them, Rachel! â¤ď¸
Elisha, congratulations on your baby! ? I am so excited for you.
My sisters and I generally do a long run once a week and random other runs in there. We also walk almost every day and sometimes more than once in a day just depending.
For those who are behind, I really suggest setting goals and deadlines. I love deadlines. Well. In a way, but they give me something to push for! Yâall can do it! ???
Rachel
I’m so glad you enjoy them, Sarah! Makes my day to hear this. ??
Yes, goals and deadlines are going to be super necessary for those who may be behind. Set and conquer in the strength of the Lord!
Thank you for your encouragement, Sarah!
“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Cor 15:57
lydiajael
Good tip, Sarah!??
lydiajael
??? SO MUCH FUN!!! ?? I walk about five out of seven days…. any tips?…hmmmm… keep walking! Thatâs my tip. ? Keep up it, yâall!!!!â¤ď¸
